None-Sane Avenger's Loki

Do you think that Loki was honestly in his sane mind in Avengers? Because I don't. And before you non Loki lovers go saying things hear me out because what I am about to prove to you may just blow your minds. And perhaps prompt you to think about Loki in a different way. Now with that in mind let's get started. Do you recall the Loki who appeared at the start of the movie? The one whoses eyes had clear dark circles around him, whose hair was a messy, and whose face reflected tiriedness. Now that you have a clear picture of him in your mind. Let me ask you does that look reflect someone who is clear minded with a desire to rule? To me it doesn't especially in regards to Loki. For if Loki was desiring to rule he wouldn't look like he hadn't slept. Instead he would be wearing a clear confident look much like he wore in every other film. Yet at the start instead of wearing such a look he was wearing one more tired rather then a ruler look that one would come to expect

Any unknown/lesser known actors people have in mind to play big characters going forward?

A lot of fancasts I’ve seen tend to cast pretty well established actors as big upcoming characters (Wolverine, Dr Doom, etc) but do people have any casting choices that involve actors that aren’t already in the limelight? The spectrum of how unknown or lesser known the actor is can be fluid but definitely along the guise of Hemsworth being casted as Thor or Cox being casted as Daredevil. submitted by /u/BetterCallMaul123 [link] [comments]

Tony Stark dies in the MCU timeline this year! Definitely gonna re-watch the entire MCU leading upto the release date of Avengers Endgame

God idk why but it feels like that might hit me somewhere! Growing up Marvel has been such an integral part of my life and I have enjoyed every bit of being a Marvel Fan! 2023 seems like a promising year for the MCU as well! Seems like Phase 5 is gonna bring us a ton of exciting world building events! Can't wait to finally meet Kang (one of my Favourite Marvel Villians! Jonathon Majors killed it in the 30 minutes he got in Loki, he's gonna own this fucking role) Here's to an amazing year ahead! Happy New Year True Believers! How many beings did Thanos actually kill?

Since Thanos killed half of all living beings in the whole universe and the universe is infinite wouldn’t he have killed an infinite number of beings since there is an infinite number of planets so there is presumably an infinite number of beings. In the movies Bruce Banner says that Thanos killed trillions but that really doesn’t seem like that much when you look at the sheer size of the universe because it is infinite. submitted by /u/Zestyclose_Humor_325 [link] [comments]

Something I Just Realized About the Guardians of the Galaxy Movies?

None of the main villain originate from a Guardians comic? If the rumors are to be believed, the main villain of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is the High Evolutionary. If this is true, then none of the main villains in any of these movies would have had their first appearance in a Guardians comic. Ronan first appeared in Fantastic Four, and both Ego and the High Evolutionary first appeared in an issue of Thor. I know this isn't mind shattering, bit I thought it was interesting. submitted by /u/Carnage678 [link] [comments]

Started watching the MCU shows outside of Disney+ and finished watching the first season of Daredevil, it was amazing.

I started to watch the ENTIRETY of the MCU as a whole. I've finished watching the main continuity of the MCU which are the Movies and Dinsey+ Series and seeing how much time I have to wait for the next MCU content which is 'Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania' I've decided to watch the other MCU shows which are the Netflix, ABC, Hulu and Freeform shows and will be watching on release order. This means I have a lot of catching up to do watching everything with Agents of Shield, Inhumans, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Defenders, The Punisher, Runaways, Cloak & Daggger, MCU One Shots and Agent Carter. I will now feel like I have watched the entire MCU. The first shows I'm going to the watch are the Netflix shows cause I've heard they were one of the best content the MCU has offered. Daredevil was the first one I watched and it was amazing, a lot of screaming, Nos, shocking twist, and sad moments. It was truly a delight and I can see why

Happy Holidays. Funko doubles re-imagined.

Here's an idea

So you know how on Disney+ they made that "Olaf explains every Disney movie". Well what if we got that, but it's Luis explaining every MCU Movie and show in like 15-30 minute episodes, in his signature style from the Ant-Man movies. And like they could get the actors back or just get someone else. And they could be wearing like their suits straight out of the comics. This would allow for fans, new and old, to revisit all these shows and movies, get caught up, in a much quicker way. They theoretically should be able to get through the whole show in the same amount of time as about 1-2 movies. submitted by /u/SP1D3RK1D [link] [comments]

Secret Wars/Multiverse question

I read an article about ‘multiverse’ as a storytelling device in today’s movies (not just Marvel). They brought up some examples of a recent movie, also there’s Sliding Doors which deals with parallel storylines with the same character, etc. I don’t/didn’t read any of the storylines in the comics, but this article mentions at the end something bout the ‘multiverse imploding in Secret Wars’. I’m assuming the MCU will touch on this and basically that’s what Avengets 5? 6? (I forget which comes first, Kang or Secret Wars) will be about To makes things short, what happens? The Wikipedia for Secret Wars entry is long as shit Thanks submitted by /u/MM10MMG [link] [comments]

I never thought that the one thing I would be the most excited for in the MCU in the next phase, would be Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson as buddies in a procedural show

I have to say, I did not expect Loki to become - for a part - a procedural show and with such different actors (as types and probably even personalities) to match each other so perfectly. From what I saw in behind the scenes videos, these two got to be also very close when filming. It is one of those unlikely matches you have with actors. I mean, Tom is able to have a chemistry with everybody, and Owen had some very good stuff over the years (I have to admit, his comedies were not my style but comedians tend to be some of the best actors - one of my guilty....very guilty....pleasures is Behind Enemy Lines :D) but put them together? I guess it is also a proof that Marvel Casting department can do magic :) I never, ever expected these two to appear on a sci-fi show that deals with different timelines, personal dilemnas, where you have Brazil/Kafkauesqe world and them sitting at the table, talking about a meaning of life. I want to see more and I hope we will get more, however, of cou

Hawkeye was at his best in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

I rewatched the movie not long ago for the first time since 2015 and only now am I realizing how much he shined during the movie. He single-handily beat wanda and quicksilver, two people the avengers as a whole were having problems with. Wanda was mentally picking them apart only to get hard countered by a quick thinking Hawkeye. Quicksilver's super speed was annoying so he countered him by firing a stray bullet to distract him from the glass he was standing on and trap him. This one is most interesting because he's literally a regular human being going up against these infinity stone powered individuals and still winning. His patience and strategic skills were key factors in his victory over them. He helped the avengers stay low after they wrecked the streets of Johannesburg. He gave a key pep talk to Wanda during the battle of sokovia that led to her being a member of the team. That talk he had with Laura about the team possibly not needing him possibly foreshadowed them l

What do the costumes in the Holiday Special mean?

I'm confused by everything now...

I just watched Thor 4. I mean, more Gods and Eternity? Ok who? Before Celestials? After? What? I mean, who created the Infinity Stones? Like basically yes I can read up on this stuff but god damn, you really have to do your research and people just don't have time. I don't get it, and more to the point they're throwing in way too much too fast, now it's Monsters too. It just seems like it's more fan-service than anything. One thing that really bugs me is the lack of how the public in the MCU have adapted, like, it feels REALLY disconnected. In the first Iron Man, we get it, then the tech and alien ware took over way too quickly. submitted by /u/Degroomed [link] [comments]

I don’t trust critics anymore

I noticed something both in “in-depth” criticisms of MCU projects and surface level ones, all critics just say stuff to support how they feel. It seems basic enough of an observation but you’ll find barely any critic whether professional or just some guy talking on the internet (including random redditors) will ever admit this. It makes sense though that when a person likes a thing, they actually want to know more about it so they look much deeper into it. And when they find something that doesn’t make sense, they ignore it. While if a person doesn’t like a thing, they’ll not actually care to look into it as closely and just get things wrong about it but claim they are making objective statements on the truth of what the project is. I can no longer trust any critic who tries to claim any objectivity. (Which is all of them basically). At best I will stop at a review saying “I liked it or disliked it” and then leave it there because I can not trust they actually can make any reasona

Marvel Studios: Legends

Hey! So a month ago Marvel uploaded the Mantis and Drax episodes to Disney+ but then they quickly deleted them because of a spoilery scene in the Mantis one. That made sense at the time, given it was days before the premiere of The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Been watching old 90s animated series. That’s Spider-Man ending was really good!

I mean I would like to see them find Mary Jane and whatever that entails but just knowing that madam web was going to help Pete get her back because he deserved it. Even that talk he has with Stan in the end hits so hard still, he talks about letting your characters grow up which Spider-Man needed then and earned in the show, sadly still needs to be done now in the comics (apparently Stan didn’t listen too good). I think we could give Pete some lasting wins in the comics. submitted by /u/kaijuking87 [link] [comments]

3 More MCU Characters Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Could Play

Image
Many fans agree --- The Rock should come to the MCU! As we saw in the last thread, many also don't agree. With that said, here are 3 DIFFERENT choices The Rock could play: 1) The Thing https://preview.redd.it/noq0wxdiub7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=9433c97836bd45d58b428445ba004cffceedec34 Many people said one thing in the last thread, The Rock would be a great Ben Grimm. 2) Gladiator https://preview.redd.it/et6jruysub7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=1826434cefeb34fd113f0ffbac9b03405045b981 Another request by many, and frankly I agree. This would be a great role for 'The Rock' to play! 3) Original Human Torch https://preview.redd.it/vvb3eiuuub7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a15d636c689255aa7895da52cf2e3bf5808a7df Since he's in his 50s, playing a seasoned hero from the past would be cool. The Original Human Torch would be a different role for him! 4) Apocalypse https://preview.

Telekinesis in the MCU

We've seen some telekinesis here and there in characters like Wanda and Ebony Maw. However, in the future there's going to be far more characters with that power (like Jean Grey) and they're going to play a bigger role than for example Ebony Maw, and thus their powers will be showcased far more. How do you think the MCU will handle telekinesis? It's such a strong power. Even if you can't crush a person's insides, you can still grab the person and lift them in the air, immobilizing them. That would instantly end so many fights, especially since the power works at the speed of thought. Don't know how they will balance something so strong, without giving some 'cheap' reason as to why they don't instantly win a lot, but not all, of their fights. + How do you think they will handle telepathy? It's just as dangerous, if not more. submitted by /u/Mission-Asparagus [link] [comments]

He was one hell of a big bad in SM2, and then while he is quite the rampaging bad guy on the bridge, he spends the rest of the movie just tied up, and then turns good. 5 MCU Characters Henry Cavill Can Play in the MCU

Image
Most of us want Henry Cavill to play a role in the MCU, and it makes sense. In many ways, he is a nerd like us and is a talented actor. Here are 5 characters Henry Cavill could play in the MCU: 1) Silver Surfer https://preview.redd.it/25tq0rkmza7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c92127287c4b3dc7f411329375d0587e5fa65a6 A different type of role but one with complexities, a rich back story, and a lot of promise. How intimidating would Silver Surfer be if ripped Henry Cavill came through the wall?? 2) Scarlet Spider (Kaine) https://preview.redd.it/16jhac1sza7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=82e40af9c04560d7d7cf3cb7c312748a81b0cb16 A very different role. Henry Cavill as Kaine Spider-Man. A larger built Spider-Man with a tragic history. 3) Sentry https://preview.redd.it/53wnt01vza7a1.png?width=1289&format=png&auto=webp&s=2aa97aa4f35b45e50b6a8335994aafd41eef4cc4 'Nuff said. 4) Hyperion https://preview.redd.it/tv

Phase 4 makes the sense you just don’t see it.

Thor: Love and Thunder introduces Eternity and shows the anyone who holds the Thor name and dies in battle still goes to Valhalla. Opens

Kang Wars - Should have been the 2nd Thanos

MCU died with the Endgame, unfortunately. The entire MCU revolved around the Infinity Stones and Thanos, there is a point with all of the movies before Infinity War. Now, the Phase 4, is just about cranking movies out thoughtlessly. Since they were playing with the thought of Multiverse, they could have sprinkled small involvement of Kang in the background masterminding the the whole thing than just the TVA in Loki. Could have culminated with the Secret Wars, but nah man, lets money grab. submitted by /u/The6thMessenger [link] [comments]

Who is the most miscasted character in the MCU?

Who was the most miscast in the MCU? There’s lots of threads on who’s iconic in the role like RDJ as Iron Man, but who’s the weakest link of the MCU? Overall, there’s of course some amazing casting choices for the MCU, but there’s also been some letdowns. For me, the low hanging fruit is Finn Jones as Iron Fist. He just didn’t quite fit the role of Danny Rand which also could be a failure of the writers to write the character well. submitted by /u/IndianBatman [link] [comments]

An aid for catching up with Phase 4

Image
A friend recently asked for advice on what stuff from Phase 4 they needed to watch in order to catch-up with the MCU. They hadn't seen anything since Endgame but wanted to be ready for the big films that were coming up. It got quite complicated to explain in words, so I made this graph and they recommended sharing it here for anyone else looking to do the same. It's not trying to map everything, just focus on all the Phase 4 shows and films (I skipped What If) and indicate what directly connects to them from earlier phases. I also included my personal theories as to where some things might be going, mainly to avoid stuff like Moon Knight or Shang-Chi looking like dead ends. I'm sure it's got mistakes in it - and I don't post on Reddit much so there's a good chance I've cocked this up in some way - but hopefully it'll help out someone! Curious to see what people think, or any suggestions for improvements. https://preview.redd.it/0ieytl7uf37a1.jp

A Marvelous Modern Myth

(Context: This is an essay I wrote for a Mythology class where you have to take a hero from a story/movie and apply Hesiod's Hero's Journey to what that hero goes through. I got 50/50 on it and thought, "Eh. Maybe someone on Reddit might enjoy it." So...Here we are) The Marvel Cinematic Universe , more commonly known as the MCU, is a franchise built on bringing life to some of Marvel Comic's mightiest heroes. From the flag-waving super-soldier Captain America to everyone's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, these colorfully costumed clad characters and their awe-inspiring adventures are called, by many, modern mythologies. Their origins date back to the comics created by the late and great Stan Lee and the many writers he would soon inspire to create future comics for Marvel. My extremely lazy plot prediction for Deadpool 3

Shortly after the shenanigans of deadpools time travel antics in Deadpool 2, The TVA has been alerted to his activity and move to arrest him. He’s really difficult to capture but they eventually do it, they destroy his timeline as punishment for his resisting their arrest. Kind of like the LAPD and Rodney king except on a multiversal scale, he’s really angry because he knows his Vanessa is gone this time While arrested at the TVA, Deadpool meets an a variant version of Wolverine who has been arrested during the events of days of future past, he explains why he is there. He tells Deadpool he had to time travel to save mutants from being eradicated in an apocalyptic future, when he asks Deadpool why he did the same, Deadpool doesnt have a good answer. Loki is under arrest at the TVA and has been feeding kang intel on where to target the 616 universe, he doesnt want to be there and sees the two as his only escape. miss minutes of the TVA offers the two a deal, kang is willing to let
