I think it's time to say goodbye...

Hey, if you clicked on this you're probably really confused about this title and want me to elaborate, or you already know exactly what I'm about to say. I think Marvel lost their 'touch', maybe I'm growing up or have been spoiled by the cultivated masterpiece of the Infinity Saga. But no matter what Marvel show/movie I watch, I just don't feel the same spark and warm connection I had to the characters that I used to have as a kid. Now not all content from Marvel has been disappointing lately... quite frankly I found Guardians 3 really enjoyable and emotional along with many of my friends. But the problem for me is that I don't look forward to any of their future projects anymore. I'm over the whole upcoming "Secret Wars" arc even though it has barely started. Personally, I think I lost interest in the stakes of these movies, especially when they became so broadened out. What I mean by this is instead of the heroes addressing the fate of the w

Human and Scrull Love in Secret Invasion

Here's the corrected version: "I would love to know what everyone else thought about the whole 'Love me in my own skin' or 'Would he love you in your own skin' issue. I really don't understand what they were trying to achieve in those scenes, making a topic out of it like it's normal and expected for humans to be sexually attracted to aliens. Vice versa for Skrulls. Why the hell would they be attracted to humans? That's so weird." submitted by /u/sekerfatih [link] [comments]

Barbenheimer shows auteurs MUST take over the MCU.

Forgive the bold phrasing, the point had to be made. So I am just past watching the Barbenheimer juggernaut and oh lordy, what a package. Both films are certainly expertly crafted, immensely well acted and thoroughly well thought out. Something that, well... Hasn't been really the case in the MCU. My lack of access to Disney+ aside, I didn't even need to see the entirety of Secret Invasion to get enough information to be appalled by some of the choices. The bullshit Harvest device - how the fuck do you actually get this much superpowered DNA - grey CGI bullshit I saw in video clips of the finale, Gravik allegedly being a generic bad guy... Yeah, I don't think I'm seeing it again. I also never saw Eternals. Shang-Chi was aggressively meh. Black Widow - merely decent. And while I admire GOTG 3, Love and Thunder, MOM and No Way Home, the only reason they're as good is their handling by auteurs. Jon Watts aside, I think it's clear the directors of the 4 are

Something I wonder is what armor Rhodey will use in Armor Wars. The possible ones are... Will we ever see Black Cat in the MCU?

Huge fan of Marvel's Spider-Man, and I know that for MCU they are now really going to have to flesh out his world since all of his mentors and family are dead. Do you think that we will finally see Black Cat in the MCU? This character has not had a movie appearance to date. submitted by /u/Thatgmrgirl [link] [comments]

Doubts about super-skrull

Guys I finished to watch Secret Invasion and I was thinking about the powers of the super-skrulls, there is a scene where Gravik uses telekinesis like Ebony Maw, but, how is that possible that his DNA was in the harvest? submitted by /u/Still_Luxor [link] [comments]

Secret Invasion - the DNA fight complaints

I get that it's silly that, in reality, they'd replicate tattoos or pants or whatever you want to complain about. However, the show needed a way to show the audience what was happening and a big grey arm by itself doesn't scream Drax. I actually liked how they did this scene, even if it didn't quite track as real. But, then again, it's shapeshifting aliens infused with superhero DNA in a fight to save the Earth, so "being real" wasn't my biggest concern. Just my opinion. submitted by /u/grafton24 [link] [comments]

How Good Would An Insomniac Spider-Gwen Game Be

This Is Something I Really Want To Happen & Theirs Leaks About Gwen Being In Spider-man 2 so i think it's possible. My Story Idea For The Game Is: Gwen Stacy An American Girl Who Is An Widow For The Red Roon Is Given The Powers Of The Spider-Men (Peter & Miles) & escapes back to New York City Where The Police Are After Her For Many Assassinations, Including Gwen's farther Captain Stacy who believes Gwen's dead after being kidnapped 10 years prior, Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) Finds Gwen & helps her make peace with her past & move forward & use her powers for good, becoming Spider-Woman submitted by /u/RailingForce [link] [comments]

Secret Invasion Should Have Been TVs Version of Thanos

One of the big issues of SI was that it was so far removed from the comic version. While it would never be to that level, it could have been a lot closer if they would have added the Skrull element to each of the TV series. It could have been a sub plot in many, if not all, of the TV series, and it would allow the viewers to be more invested in the story arc and allow more prominent super heroes to be taken over by Skrulls. Instead, we have supposed to be all in on this secret invasion after 5, 30 min eps. and, minus War Machine, no super heroes taken. submitted by /u/brobgilbert [link] [comments]

MCU in it’s current state and future prospects

TLDR: So, realistically speaking, at what point is “quality” MCU as a WHOLE supposed to begin airing? We’ve had a pandemic and this rush of announcements post end-game during the pandemic for phases 4-5-6. She-Hulk clearly acknowledged Marvel’s formulaic plot structure suggesting that at least Marvel is aware of the cgi slugfest problems and predictable storylines. We had the vfx community openly denounce Disney and the larger content rush. And just prior to the SAG strike, Iger admits that Disney+ has diluted the quality of the MCU brand. It feels safe to say that at the very least Marvel content is mixed in quality but at an all time low with regards to public reception. I was hoping that with the announcement that Phase 4 ends with BP:WF, that Phase 5 would be beginning of the quality MCU again. But so far we’ve had a mixed bag (2 flops and 1 hit) . It seems safe to infer that everything in post-production now may still suffer from the (post-)pandemic, vfx, and over saturated M

Watching Oppenheimer made me realize two things about the MCU: one funny and one tragic.

Firstly is that, after brushing up on my physics I realized Ant-Man is a walking WMD lol. If he shrinks by a small percentage shedding mass equivalent to one front adult-size tooth that will yield an explosive energy equivalent to one Hiroshima because that mass has to be coverted into something. Don't give me the "his mass remains the same" nonsense because it clearly doesn't when he's running around on top of guns and standing on people's shoulders without burrowing into their flesh from the needle-like pressure. He also punched that Leviathan in Endgame which if the mass was the same would have bounced him back several kilometers like a giant parade balloon, while the Leviathan felts nothing but a gentle tap. Secondly is that (oh man this will make me sad again) Murphy's portrayal made me wish that T'Challa was still in the MCU as this portrayal of a charismatic, loner to the point of seeming somewhat arrogant (but really just good at leadership a

The amount of projects is not what is causing "burn out" or "overwhelming feeling" from MCU

I see this around constently, that people are starting to feel burnt out because the MCU is putting out too much content and that they should have more space between projects... It is not about space between projects. They dont have that stuff going out. TV shows used to put out weekly episodes throught out the year and people enjoy that and dont feel its too much. The reason, is not the amount of projects, but the amount of parallel storylines. If the project were connected enough and leading to common points more quickly, there will not be any "burn out feeling". But now MCU is kind of generating a lot of mental load without payoff to fans. Except Wandavision and Loki, shows opened a lot of storylines and are still waiting to be continued. If we take phase 4 movies and series, it generated so much stuff, out the top of my head from Blackwidows running on the loose everywhere, to a Celestial threatning to destroy earth, with the power broker in place, many organisations

Framing superheroes for murder doesn't make sense

We see in NWA that Spiderman is framed for murder of Mysterio and that is essentially the big issue of the film. What would have happened if MCU was real life? The remaining Avengers and Fury/Talos would completely vouch for Spiderman and the public opinion would instantly be in Spiderman's favor. Daily bugle works in a world where Avengers don't exist and aren't public heros. We see the same thing in Secret Invasion. It js revealed on TV that shapeshifting aliens are in Russia. And shortly after it is shown that Fury is killing Maria Hill. Anybody with half a brain would know its an imposter rather than the guy who formed the Avengers and saved the world many times. Fury could also easily expose that Rhodey is a skrull. These situations to build tension need a lot of suspension of disbelief. submitted by /u/nilanganray [link] [comments]

We, as a community, should really stop idolizing Kevin Feige.

Let me preface this by saying I fully understand the lengths this man cares about Marvel. I know he handed Hugh Jackman cues for Wolverine and that he actually does care about lore accuracy. He’s a visionary and deserves so much credit. As a longtime comic nerd, he is not the only nerd in the industry who cares. There are so many people involved who care just as much, if not more, about how these productions are made. Yet Feige gets all the credit because his name is at the forefront. He’s one man. He has neither the time nor resources to be 100% involved in every single project. I know this doesn’t need to be said for most people. Most of you lurk and just keep up to date on projects. But man. This vocal minority would have you think these billion dollar projects were operating with just the writer, director, and cast all in one room. submitted by /u/SaltySpituner [link] [comments]

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/streaming-tv-rankings-june-19-25-2023-1235540662/ "Marvel’s Secret Invasion also cracked the top 10 for its premiere week, racking up 461 million minutes of viewing for its first episode on Disney+ — equivalent to about 8.54 million full runs of the 54-minute episode." In contrast to the initially reported viewership numbers of the pilot, Nielsen reports the above. Those are mammoth numbers that get the series into the Top 10 Original Series on streaming. MCU Weapon manufacturers

So, so certain real manufacturers not exist in the MCU? Like in Iron Man 1, The Ten Rings have Stark Industries weapons but they had weapons that are UMPs, M4s (or M27s), G36s, etc. The military demonstration had a bunch of SAWs on a table. How old is Carol Danvers supposed to be?

Her first film was set in 1995 or so. Fury was 30/early 40s, she was minimum of mid 20s there (accomplished fighter pilot + time with the Kree). So now its's somewhere around 2025 Marvel time, Fury is 60s/70s and Captain Marvel is ... in her 30s? Has this ever been explained anywhere? The obvious get out is some sort of time dilation from travelling at FTL speed, but FTL travel in MCU has generally been shown using the hex-pattern hyperspace, so time dilation shouldn't apply. So, what's the deal? submitted by /u/khludge [link] [comments]

Conspiracy Theory: Secrets Invasion is the first MCU title written by AI.

So since I've started watching Secret Invasion, its been apparent that with each episode there's a drop in quality with the most recent feeling wildly disjointed. I think the biggest reason for that is Marvel Studios opted for AI to write the script for the show and had people kind of fill in the blanks where AI fell short. So now you must be thinking, hey that sounds a little crazy, why AI? Well consider the following: the writers strike and the intro. One of the core issues that sparked the strike was the propensity for AI having the ability to write shows and movies, which for obvious reasons is less than ideal. The intro for the show is said to be AI generated, which is a very unprecedented move. If showrunners were willing to forego artists in favor of AI to make the intro to save money, who's to say they wouldn't do the same for the script if the opportunity afforded it? The events of the strike and use of AI that we know of is weirdly coincidental. It could be

Looking back on 2019's CAPTAIN MARVEL

Before I even write anything, know that this post is not for the folks with zero braincells who talk about this movie being "woke" or how it brought in the "M-She-U." If you talk like this, rethink your life, touch some grass, and skip this post. Anyways, on with it. So I re-watched CAPTAIN MARVEL recently and like most, the movie was fairly forgettable. I do like Larson in the role, and the cast itself delivered solid performances, but man, aside from maybe the score, there was not one thing that I found to be memorable. From a film, and MCU standpoint, this is a weaker entry into the franchise. But as the credits rolled, I realized something. There's an argument to be made that 2019's CAPTAIN MARVEL is what gave Marvel Studios an insane level of cockiness. A movie that's fairly forgettable raked in over $1 billion. Not even WONDER WOMAN hit a billion, but then again, you could argue that fan hype for the DCEU was mixed and that movie gave folks the

Secret Invasion is flexing itself as Marvel's Andor and largely failing

I was excited when this show was announced as I was a fan of the Secret Invasion storyline in the comics and I'm a big fan of espionage films/shows/books. This show has so far been dull, uninspired, directionless and just plain bad. It's as if the showrunners watched Tinker, Tailor (or another John LeCarre film) and thought prestige television meant having two people have a conversation in a room about something boring. That's not what those scenes are for! They're using conversation as a means of gathering information from each other and reveal something about the characters we don't know already. Here, they don't do anything. There are entire scenes that go nowhere. At no point are you aware of what a character desires or how they're going to get it. In Andor, we get to see the banality of evil and how an insurgency is first formed. We see the conflict from all sides and how there are several ways of being opporessed. What this show should've done i

Wolverine speculation

So my instinctive guess, based on the brightness of the costume, it that Hugh Jackman will be playing 838 Wolverine. Here's my reasons: Patrick Stewart was 838 Xavier 838 Xavier was very much visually based on the 90s cartoon, with the bright yellow floating chair and the same outfit. This means that 838 X-Men are very likely similar to the 90s cartoon. I know that's not much to go on, but it's something. The bright yellow suit is based on the same yellow suit he work in the cartoon. It's not solid, but it's enough for a theory. submitted by /u/AlanShore60607 [link] [comments]

Okay so I'm aware that Downey Jr has made 50 million from the first Avengers and like 75-100 million from both Infinity War and Endgame. Armor Wars Theory

So there’s been a lot of talk about what Armor Wars could possibly be with the newest Episode 4 Rhodey reveal - maybe it’s OG Rhodey coming back into the world after having been Skrull’d? I think the general consensus is Skrull Rhodey is probably gonna bite it by the end of the season and OG Rhodey will return, but I think Armor Wars has the potential to be really interesting if that isn’t the case. I don’t think this is the route the MCU will go, but I personally think it would be really interesting if Armor Wars acted as a continuation of Secret Invasion, but with OG Rhodey vs. Skrull Rhodey. I just think it would make for some interesting dynamics between characters and it would be really fun to watch Don Cheadle pulling dual roles in that capacity. Phase 1 - 3 had Nick Fury, who’s assembling the Avengers now?

Like many of you, I have had some issues with Phase 4. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not jumping on the hate bandwagon, but the lack of cohesion has been bugging me. I recently saw a comment on another thread about how there is a lack of Multiversal events in what’s being called “The Multiverse Saga”. My main issue with Phase 4, however, is who the hell is assembling the new generation of Avengers? At first it seemed like Wong was on it. After all, he’s been seen in Spider-Man NWH, Shang-Chi, She-Hulk, and of course Dr. Strange: MoM. And in terms of “recruitment”, you can arguably say Shang Chi is the only person he was sought after for a specific task. Phase 1 - 2 had Nick Fury and Agent Coulson peppered through movies leading up to Avengers finally assembling. Nick Fury popped up in Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Avengers, Avengers: AoU. Coulson was in Iron Man and Thor. Nick Fury even continued to make appearances in Infinity War, Endgame, Spider-Man FFH, etc. I haven’t started watching

GG forever... (Secret Invasion episode 3 spoilers)

Anyone thinks there might have been some romantic history in the past between Gravik and G'iah ? Them being the only two children Skrulls in the 1997 meeting with Fury and shyly looking at each other seemed like some puppy love brewing. Could it have evolved into something more serious at one point? Could that explain why Gravik ( if he still he some feeling for her) seemed reluctant to believe G'iah was betraying the cause ( though it seemed rather obvious)? Sure, he shot her, but did he really want to kill her? I mean, it's not as if he even went to check her body to verify if she was really dead. We all know G'iah is still alive and turned into her Skrull original shape to play possum, right? If this is the case does G'iah still have feeling for that companion she had since they were kids despite his having turned into a genocidal terrorist, and were could that lead? submitted by /u/Quiet_Effective7234 [link] [comments]

Can someone explain this scene? How did Carol set herself free?

Image
I'm re-watching Captain Marvel, and I'm at this scene where Carol sets herself free and gains all of her superpowers. But I still don't get how exactly this happened. Mar-Vell hit her with her power beams and Carol somehow became ultra powerful and removed that power blocker from the back of her neck. submitted by /u/Spider-Bat-919 [link] [comments]

What was the purpose of the Skrulls shapeshifting abilities back on Skrullos?

My wife asked me this after the lastest SI episode, and I had no idea. Do they transform into more attractive Skrulls? Or use it to decive other Skrulls? Or is it purely used against other species? submitted by /u/Dodgely [link] [comments]

What Marvel and Sony need to do for Spider-Man outside his own films

Just start having Spider-Man show up in costume, not taking off his mask. Then they can have a stunt actor play him, and have Tom Holland/Andrew Garfield/Tobey Maguire/Shameik Moore (whoever Miles Morales will be in MCU) do some voice acting. Bring in the actors for the team up movies, but keep Spider-Man, Spider-Man. Then we get some natural spidey around NYC like he should be. I feel MOM and other projects featured in the area (Ms. Marvel) have been missing this. submitted by /u/laffingbomb [link] [comments]

Did marvel spoil secret invasion?

Let me explain. Marvel delayed The marvels and instead of it they released GOTG3 and now marvels will come out after Secret invasion. That means one of these 2 movies has to be after Secret invasion incident. So what I want to say by this is in GOTG 3 star lord returned to the earth and everything seems to be normal and in marvels trailer we could see Fury wearing an eye batch and being back in the space. Which means he either won and returned to the space or marvels are before secret invasion but that doesn't make sense since in secret invasion he returned to the earth for the first time and in the trailer he was looking for Kamala Khan on the earth. So either marvel is lame and that's another skrull fury or marvel spoiled secret invasion ending which is Fury has won. submitted by /u/Lukassames [link] [comments]

It really was.

Hoping we get an answer now that GOTG3 is out on digital

Secret Invasion

Soooo, how many of you are actually enjoying the show. It has to be the least talked about MCU shows of all time. I personally don’t know anyone that’s watching it and 3 episodes in I’ve found it to be extremely slow and I’m having a hard to paying attention to it. I’m hoping that second half of the show picks up. So far they’ve duped us with the CA: WS tone comparisons. How are we feeling?? submitted by /u/bornlikethisss [link] [comments]

Which MCU movies could possibly be an elseworlds movie?

So me theory is that at least doctor strange 2 is not based off of our universe. It’s a parallel universe and they used it to introduce us to the multiverse and to show us that we’ve been watching variants so when secret wars comes around we’ll be torn between universes. Other suspects could be moon knight, FATWS, black widow, no way home, she hulk, Shang Chi. Thoughts? EDIT I guess I’ll elaborate, first off this is a THEORY , not fact. Secondly, anything is possible, just cause it probably wont happen doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it lol. Basically what I’m trying to say is that after Loki anything is possible. In the comics they’ll continue the main continuity until they mess things up then slap an alternate universe sticker on it lol. Why can’t they do the same in film? Phase 1-3 are solid, then Loki drops, and catastrophe follows. Btw this post is for fun, let your imaginations run stop trying to be right about everything. I am 99% sure I’m wrong, so nah I don’t wanna argue a

Black Widow should have been more like the vibe of Secret Invasion.

That’s pretty much it. The international espionage aspect, people who aren’t who they claim to be. Literal spies. The family relationship issues could still be woven in, ‘cause that was a great part of BW. Yes, the Black widows are literally spies. But it turned into just a standard issue action extravaganza. I liked it but didn’t love it. The small details were nice. The family relationship sub plot, as I mentioned. The black widow ballet of gun training in the red room scene was cool. But overall it just..lacked. I’m really digging Secret Invasion right now, and it is because it’s a new genre that has only been touched on in other MCU projects. Marvel totally could have done BW that way and still done SI this way. Just my input. Thanks for reading my Ted Talk. submitted by /u/Metal_dweeb2134 [link] [comments]

MCU Skrulls = Animal Crossing ( no spoilers for Secret Invasion)

In the MCU, I don’t think we’ve ever seen Skrulls take a non-humanoid shape yet. It makes you wonder if they can. In the comics, they can, of course. And I would be quite disappointed if they could not in the MCU either.. Of course when you think about it, if a Skrull can shapeshift rapidly into any animal, he/she would be impossible to chase, being able to fly away in bird form or disappear in a hole or sewer in small rodent, or quickly climb up something in feline form, or whatever.. However, on the other hand it would make sense it could take some extra time and effort to shapeshift into a form very different from their own (humanoid) original one. More importantly, it would take time for them to adapt to the biokinetic workings of a totally different type of body. It would need some (previous) training for Skrull spies to be able to fly, use claws to climb on four legs, and so on. And it would probably not be easy to fool most social animals and pass as members of their species

question= was Fury really on SABER?

There is something that is somehow intriguing to me. In SI episode 1 we see Fury coming down back to Earth, supposedly from the SABER space station in Earth orbit. We later learn from Rhodey discussing with the US president that he is working there on an important defense project (for SWORD and the US then), most probably a planetary shield.. But in the post credit scene of SM:FAFH, when it is revealed Talos and Soren were replacing Fury and Maria Hill at the request of the real Fury, the latter is shown ( in apparent good shape) on a spaceship full of Skrulls in what appears to be deeper space, and he mentions a mission ( work to do).. I'm not considering this too seriously, but did I miss something? Or should we just partly disregard the poscredit scene of the Spiderman movie? As a side question, where was the real Hill during the events of that movie, for her having to be replaced by Soren? submitted by /u/Quiet_Effective7234 [link] [comments]

I haven't watched since endgame.

How do I jump back in? Things like black widow and shang chi or whatever don't interest me. What movies/shows build the universe/ multiverse the most? I did watch spiderman. submitted by /u/innit122 [link] [comments]

Do you guys rewatch movies when there's no new movies?

I want to know because when there's no new marvel movies I usually re-watch older ones or sometimes i just watch scenes on YouTube if I'm not watching any other thing submitted by /u/annihilator-17 [link] [comments]

If Skrulls can shape shift into any human form and outfit they can technically create huge amounts of clothing.

This just hit me when watching episode 2 of Secret Invasion after Talos shape shifted into a woman wearing a totally different set of clothes. Skrulls don't just change bodies but their whole physical appearance. I assume the clothes aren't somehow stuck to their body but can actually be removed. So they could basically shape shift, undress and shape shift again all day long, creating huge amounts of outfits. If taking over the human world doesn't succeed, they can still take over the retail and fashion world. submitted by /u/BasilWithWater [link] [comments]

When it comes to X-men would you want them to do the live triangle stuff with Jean and Scott? I like Scott and Emma but dont care for the Jean and Logan affair.

New Marvel fan here why is Captain Marvel so disliked?

I recently subscribed to Disney Plus and even though I didn't think I was a "superhero movies" type of person I got easily addicted to watching Marvel stuff (I had only watched Infinity War and Endgame before, maybe I had not given Marvel enough time to fascinate me). I watched Captain Marvel today and I found it to be a good movie but I remembered that it was extremely hated when it came out. Yeah it might be below average for Marvel's standards, I still enjoyed it tho. The only downside I found is that it felt kinda unnecessary in the MCU but it's not that big of a deal. However why does everyone seem to dislike it? submitted by /u/DeathNum [link] [comments]
