Can someone explain this scene? How did Carol set herself free?

I'm re-watching Captain Marvel, and I'm at this scene where Carol sets herself free and gains all of her superpowers. But I still don't get how exactly this happened. Mar-Vell hit her with her power beams and Carol somehow became ultra powerful and removed that power blocker from the back of her neck.

Alright so I just finished Loki and I just…ugh idk. Yall im so sad I get that he gets his throne and he helps everyone. But I just wanted him to have friends and be happy. The first 2 avengers movies feel pretty different compared to a lot of the mcu

I was rewatching avengers 2012 and realized how different it feels to the rest of the mcu. It feels more comic booky and a little campy somehow? That's kind of what I really like about it though and really just find it interesting. Avengers age of ultron also has this more comic booky vibe to it. Any thoughts on this?
