If you had the choice, who would you choose to replace Tony’s sacrifice and why?

Image
This is a repost because I misspelled the title. Sorry! My cousin said that’s why it should of been Cap who did it. From a survivable perspective, Thor could probably survive the stones power more than any of the Avengers combined. The only issue here is his mental state during the time. Which is a major downside. But what do you think? Who should’ve been the one to sacrifice themselves instead of Tony and why? Please share your thoughts! submitted by /u/HumbleKnight14 [link] [comments]

Is the X-Men franchise more popular than ever now?

It feels like there is a X-Men renaissance happening right now with X-Men '97 and Deadpool & Wolverine . Deadpool & Wolverine 's teaser trailer had gained 242 million views in its first 24 hours (356 million with the Super Bowel views), which is on par with Avengers: Infinity War 's 24 hour views (230 million). It looks like it might become the highest grossing X-Men movie ever if it is received well. While X-Men '97 gained four million views on its first five days on Disney+. It had the most watched animated series premiere on Disney+ and was the #1 most popular show online at the time . What are your thoughts? submitted by /u/ShadesOfTheDead [link] [comments]

Couldn't Iron man have snapped to gain a body immune to the effects of the infinity stones first?

Just a passing thought, the infinity stones which have the power to eradicate 50% of the universe in one go should have allowed it's user to modify their constitution as they see fit? Just getting a Thanos like constitution should've been enough, thoughts? submitted by /u/alphabeta_g [link] [comments]

How would you feel on the Cabal being the big bad(s) of the mcu after Secret Wars. (If not leave who else you perticularly would like as the big bad after Secret Wars)

Image
Even though the saga after multiverse saga is probably going to be the mutant saga, this would be the first time we have a completed live action marvel universe with the Avengers, Xmen, Fantastic four, spider-man, and others in the same place. I feel a group of villains would work great as the final antagonist of a saga, seeing as you could have the primary villains of each hero faction join the Cabal. https://preview.redd.it/w127u4s64brc1.png?width=658&format=png&auto=webp&s=c6e5010431d095ff9d1e4ce8ddd8ee921538aa53 submitted by /u/JohnnTheMan21 [link] [comments]

Would you like to see the mcu attempt a true adaption of a story?

We all know the mcu use the names of characters and events, then borrow some inspiration for a few scenes and themes within the stories and that’s generally the extent of it. (not a criticism just how it’s been done) Larger events and arcs would obviously be extremely hard to do close to 1:1 due to the scope. But I think if they were to attempt it, I think it would be pretty easy to do for a solo movie. Is there any stories you’d like and you think could easily and perfectly be copy and pasted onto the screen? submitted by /u/AcceptableAd8472 [link] [comments]

Spiderman: Tobey, Andrew, Tom

First thing first: which spiderman is your favorite and why? For me it's Andrew. He's the best spiderman imo. Like I know I'm one of the few people that have this opinion but yeah lol. I'm actually not sure why he's my favorite. Maybe because of his personality since he's so similar to the comics, or the chemistry between peter and Gwen. Yeah maybe it's the second thing I said lol. But I loved Peter's way of talking and all (it respects the comics) and Andrew's acting is on another level. For sure Andrew is the best peter out of the 3, but he was also a GREAT spiderman really. But I guess I love those films because of the tragic event at the end of TASM2 (not kidding, I cried while watching it and for the next 5 days) But I know we don't have to compare these 3 actors. All three of them were amazing as spiderman and as peter parker. And their acting were top notch. The second thing I wanted to talk about was my tf many people haven't muc

A Revived Marvel Animated Universe

I just watched the third episode of X-Men ‘97 and I’m loving the show so far. It got me thinking about what if Marvel Studios’ animation division revived all of the 90s Marvel cartoons, and how to do it. Imagine X-Men ‘97 goes for 3 seasons before they start spinoffs. The first spinoffs could be Iron Man ‘97 and Fantastic Four ‘97 (both of those shows ended in 1996 and could pick up one year later). For Iron Man, first you bring back that badass “I Am Iron Man” theme song from season 2. That’s half the battle right there. Then update the Mandarin to get rid of the more problematic and racist elements of the character. The story would have Tony coming to grips with his age, his relationship with Julia Carpenter (maybe they get married or break up?) and his fears about the rise of technology outpacing him heading into the new millennium. Him being a futurist and seeing where the world is going toward the digital age. At some point, Tony dissolves Force Works; this will be important lat

Since Steven Yeun had to drop out of "Thunderbolts", how about playing Mister Negative in a future Spidey film?

So we know that because of the delays caused by the strikes, Yeun's scheduling for playing Sentry wasn't going to work out. Now, looking at an antagonist for the next Spdier-Man film, most of the major rogue's gallery has already been covered, apart from a pre-Scorpion Mac Gargan, and possibly Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, but another possibility, who really stood out in the game franchise (no spoilers, please) is Martin Li, AKA Mister Negative, who's never been featured in live action. Plus he's got a distinctly different power set than any of the previous film villains. What do you think? submitted by /u/n_mcrae_1982 [link] [comments]

The High Evolutionary is one of Ego's children.

So this theory is mostly conjecture but I do believe that the High Evolutionary is one of Ego's children. I got to thinking about this when he first met Peter he clearly singled him out. Likely due to Peter being the team leader but it felt like it was more than that. He seemed to be actively trying show off in front of Peter who isn't exactly a paragon of humans. I also found it odd he knew so much about Peter. He doesn't seem like the type to care to learn about the key players in the galaxy unless it pertains to his work. Could have been due to Peter's affiliation with Rocket but even then, his focus was solely on Rocket. My overall theory is he was once the "favorite" likely even had Mantis's job. Then he realized he'd never be perfect for Ego. Which could have been around the time Peter was conceived or even before that. My point is I imagine it was originally just him serving Ego, then he fell short of Ego's idea of perfection and was repl

Why did they make so damn many Eternals Pez dispensers??

So the movie The Eternals came out almost 3 years ago. As many here know, the movie has a pretty lackluster response from the fandom and was far from Marvel’s most successful movie. Yet I see tons of Eternals Pez dispensers whenever I see a display of Pez dispensers somewhere. Why are there so many? Why haven’t they put them on sale? Why did they make so many in the first place? Thor 5 pitch(featuring Kang)

I posted my pitch for a Thor 5 movie featuring the Eternals yesterday but this is my original and preferred idea for a Thor 5 movie if we are moving forward with Kang. Title: The Unworthy Thor Act 1: Since Love & Thunder, Thor has been focused on being a better god and protecting all the realms with Love by his side. After a very tough fight on one of the realms, Thor decides it is no longer safe for Love to do this with him and they go to Earth where Love will join America Chavez at the Kamar Taj(set up for Young Avengers). Out of nowhere, Hercules attacks and severs Thor’s arm before he can call Mjolnir. Hercules overwhelms them and is about to kill Love before America Chavez opens a portal to another universe to push him into. Thor throws Mjolnir to separate Hercules from Love then flies in tackling Hercules through the portal, saving Love and leaving the two of them stranded. Act 2: Thor and Hercules arrive in a new universe where Earth has been conquered by Asgard and is n

Many people are confused about how the Box Office works and that's understandable because it can be confusing. So let's explain:

Every movie starts with a budget, that's your baseline. Marvel and Hollywood budgets are usually around 200 million for blockbusters average. This NEVER includes marketing which is usually around 100 million. So your starting at around 300 million in the hole (negative). Whatever the budget is you want to make 2.5 times that BARE MINIMUM to break even, because movie theaters get half. Break Even means you covered the cost (didn't make money or lose money) at the box office. Breaking even is infinitely better than losing money, it's a giant gap. Because of merchandise (toys, clothes, lunch boxes, etc) and streaming your guaranteed to make money if you BREAK EVEN bare minimum at the box office. So for a movie like Guardians of the Galaxy 1 , the budget was 200 million with another 100 mil in marketing (300 million total). That movie needs 500 million at the box office to break even (200 m budget x 2.5). It made 770 million , the movie theater gets around half. Marvel (400

Is Blade being Inhumans'd?

It was originally supposed to come out in November last year. Since then it has been pushed back two years to November 2025. It was meant to start shooting this May, but it seems like that date will be delayed again. Considering all the production issues behind the scenes, and Bob Iger's return reshaping the plans for the MCU, I wonder if Disney is even interested in making this movie anymore, and if they aren't just quietly canning it. Disney recently Eternals 2, Ant-Man 4, and Captain Marvel 3 will not be happening because they wan't the MCU to focus on more "sure hits", and I fear Blade might be the next on the chopping block submitted by /u/Junior-Success-8964 [link] [comments]

Animated multiverse?

The Marvel Animation intro was recently shown and we can see old animated series like 1960s Spider-Man. What place do you think animation will have in the multiverse of the MCU and Secret Wars? Will we have animated characters and/or universes in live-action movie? Or will the characters from the cartoons will appear in live action, or just the characters from What If and Marvel Zombies? Will we have a multiverse reunion in animation like an animated Secret Wars? Let's just talk about the animation for the future of the crossover aspect of the MCU. Since "non-Marvel Studios" cartoon are included in the Marvel Animation intro, it looks like the MCU is recognizing them, so they might have a role in the future of the MCU. submitted by /u/Due-Ad6949 [link] [comments]

So What's the Deal with X-Men'97?

I haven't understood the concept in what the show is supposed to be. I know that it's the continuation of the old xmen shows. So I decided that I'll check out the old show first (I've never watched the show). Until I saw this: https://youtu.be/B6_TBNfgsfQ?feature=shared The executive producer Brad Winderbaum says that the show is not a reboot of the show but the NEXT DAY CONTINUATION. Then the consulting producer Larry Houston says that they are keeping the themes from the previous seasons but adapting it for the new audience. If it's for the new audience then it's kind of unnecessary for me to waste time in catching up with the older seasons. But if are they are keeping the previous themes, then I would love to watch the show from scratch. But I'm really short on time as well and I'm kind of hyped. If I wanna watch this show, I wanna do it RIGHT. So what is Xmen 97 really? A direct sequel? A prequel? A soft reboot? I'm so confused submi

Joss Whedon did, in fact, do some things right.

I know that with all the grim revelations about the guy and how he treated people on set, all of his flaws as a craftsman have been magnified and subjected to harsher scrutiny. But I believe that Joss Whedon is not this boogeyman that started the downfall of the MCU and "ruined" characters. Sure, he may have strayed from the morally acceptable path. But as an artist, he does have some noteworthy achievements. The character of Loki being one of them. The God of Mischief in The Avengers is a clever, brutal and formidable force to be reckoned with, but there is still a hinge of sympathy to him, and he definitely brims with charisma. Much of that stems from Tom Hiddleston's performance, but also Joss Whedon's script and the way he directed Hiddleston in those scenes. Same with Tony Stark, whose character was successfully elaborated upon in both Avengers movies in a natural and consistent way. Whedon deftly expanded the themes present in Iron Man 3 and The Avengers, p

The reasoning for the X men not being known in the MCU should be because of Forget me Not...

Forget me not is a character who only exists in a persons mind when you can see him. When you look away you forget his existence and everything about him. I think the MCU could use this depressing power to make it so the x men have been in the MCU the whole time but Professor X projecting forget me nots power to all mutants making everyone forget them. It could also lead to some interesting stories as the x men could've really interacted with anyone/everyone but they can't remember. submitted by /u/RamboA123B [link] [comments]

With the Oscars less than 24 hours way, I wanted to ask what are some MCU performances that you feel should've been nominated for an Oscar, but didn't stand a chance because of genre bias?

It's well known that the Academy Awards hold a bias against comic book films unless your Black Panther or Joker. Even The Dark Knight missed best picture. Last year, Angela Bassett became the first person to be nominated for an acting Oscar for an MCU movie. As much as most of us probably believe that nomination was well deserved, I think most of us could probably also agree that it shouldn't have taken so long. So who would you have nominated previously if you had the choice? Here's a few that I would've considered: Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man Tom Hiddleston in Thor Michael Rooker in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Michael B. I’m not usually a guy to care about these numbers but this one does make me curious. Numbers have been low (relatively) for a while now. Even successes there’s arguments they could’ve or should’ve made more. But this thing is BIG and especially if it delivers I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t something crazy. As well as the fact this is the only mcu movie this year and a lot of people didn’t see the Marvels might help this one? Some people might be ready to give this a go after a break from marvel. I’d say, if it delivers, 900 globally at the high end with the potential for something crazy but I wouldn’t bet on it. submitted by /u/AcceptableAd8472 [link] [comments]

Nova in the MCU

Do you think Nova would work best as a neo-noir, lone-ranger-esque film/series? Or an intergalactic “fish-out-of-water” action with comedic beats? With the MCU occasionally dipping into different genres, I think a noir story in which Richard Rider is the sole beneficiary of the Nova Force following the destruction of Xander would be interesting. I think “What If?…” touches upon this with Nebula, in terms of tone. Story notes wise, I can see Richard Rider tasked to essentially re-establish the intergalactic policing entity, Nova Corps. submitted by /u/InformalJello9322 [link] [comments]

The Punisher season 2, where they trying to make Billy and Trisha sympathetic?

I just finished watching s2 of The Punisher. It wasn't as good as season 1 but I still enjoyed it a lot. My question is, where they trying to make Billy and Trisha look like pittiable characters? I certainly didn't feel any sympathy for them, quite the contrary, I totally hated them (in a good way, not because of bad writing or something like that but because of how despicable I found both of them). Billy acts like a victim all the time even after he recovers his memory, saying Frank was wrong in disfiguring him for intentionally getting his whole family murdered for his own gain. He's constantly whining how Frank is no better than him when bIlly kills innocent people on purpose because of money while Frank always avoids hurting innocent civilians and he only kills the worst types of scumbags. And later he get apeshit on Madani for "making this baout Trisha". Are you kidding me, dude? You killed Frank's entire family in the first place. Fuck you, man!

"Why hasn't X character shown up again yet, it's been years?! Why is Marvel taking forever to use X popular character?! If I were Feige we'd have Ghost Rider/F4/X-Men/Avengers in the first 5 years of the MCU!" I'll explain why.

"Why has X character not shown up again yet? It's been years!" Feige is on record saying that after Endgame they wanted to focus on individual "one-shot" type stories/movies and that he didn't view anything after Endgame as having "Phases". (Hence why Phase 4 ended unceremoniously - this decision has been reversed as of now because they see this choice was a bad one). This is why you're seeing a bunch of projects happen without any real tie-ins or continuations (She hulk, moon knight, shang chi, etc). Well after a few years of these projects not doing well (bad writing, studio interference, etc), Disney/Marvel has realized they need to pull back on these one-off projects and focus on the bigger picture and build up to another huge event like Endgame. The Agatha show is one of the last ones of that "era" of projects where they were making things about literally any and every character it seemed like (Still have Wonderman and Ironhea

The X Men would make a better Disney + Show rather than MCU films

With the on and off ways Marvel has been performing in the box-office due to relying on the fact that we know what streaming service said movies will be on, it got me thinking about how this new approach to the X-Men will go down. While th plan is supposedly for a new X-Men movie to tie into the Avengers, I feel as though there’s more potential with a Disney + Show. While Disney+’s shows have not necessarily landed beyond the occasional hit; X Men might just be the IP big enough for it to work. It’d provide opportunity to flesh out characters that would otherwise be scrapped or turned into side-characters. Instead of turning Nightcrawler, Beast, Gambit or Jubilee into characters that are just tossed aside; a show would give them more of a chance to flesh themselves out. All while exploring the deep themes and concepts that made them some of the best comic books Marvel ever made. In a perfect world; it’d function as it’s own entity like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage did. T

Why was Gambit not a part of the Fox X-Men movies?

In the original cartoon he was one of the most popular X-Men. He was up there with Wolverine. Even in the comics in the 90's he was a popular character Then the movies come along and .... nothing. Any reason for that? I'm excited to get more Gambit though in X-Men '97 and I'm sure Disney aren't going to ignore him when it comes to bringing X-Men to the MCU. By the time the next avengers movie comes out, it’ll be pushing a decade since the one before.

Do you think the mcu needed a smaller scale avengers movie during the last phase? So many new characters and before splintering them off, they had Thor, Wanda, and Hawkeye still to work with as main members of the team, as well as captain marvel for a member that’s new but at least knew the characters from endgame. I feel like this had a lot of potential so I’m very surprised they didn’t do anything with it. A small scale avengers movie with new and old that ends with a new formal official team. Something like Carol, Sam, Wanda, Thor, Kate, Yelena and Shang chi. Or Wanda and Clint go lead the west Coast, so that as a TV show on top of the main avengers team to make the most out of all the characters they have to offer. Introduce wonder man there and Tigra as well and throw Kate on the team and have a different main avengers roster for the movie. Just random examples because they had so many options. submitted by /u/AcceptableAd8472 [link] [comments]
