Why was Gambit not a part of the Fox X-Men movies?

In the original cartoon he was one of the most popular X-Men. He was up there with Wolverine. Even in the comics in the 90's he was a popular character

Then the movies come along and .... nothing.

Any reason for that?

I'm excited to get more Gambit though in X-Men '97 and I'm sure Disney aren't going to ignore him when it comes to bringing X-Men to the MCU. At least I hope not 😑

Bitter thoughts after Loki ending

Alright so I just finished Loki and I just…ugh idk. Yall im so sad I get that he gets his throne and he helps everyone. But I just wanted him to have friends and be happy. I know it’s unrealistic but I just wanted him to have friends and be happy. The first 2 avengers movies feel pretty different compared to a lot of the mcu

I was rewatching avengers 2012 and realized how different it feels to the rest of the mcu. It feels more comic booky and a little campy somehow? That's kind of what I really like about it though and really just find it interesting. Avengers age of ultron also has this more comic booky vibe to it. Any thoughts on this?
