The X Men would make a better Disney + Show rather than MCU films
With the on and off ways Marvel has been performing in the box-office due to relying on the fact that we know what streaming service said movies will be on, it got me thinking about how this new approach to the X-Men will go down.
While th plan is supposedly for a new X-Men movie to tie into the Avengers, I feel as though there’s more potential with a Disney + Show.
While Disney+’s shows have not necessarily landed beyond the occasional hit; X Men might just be the IP big enough for it to work.
It’d provide opportunity to flesh out characters that would otherwise be scrapped or turned into side-characters. Instead of turning Nightcrawler, Beast, Gambit or Jubilee into characters that are just tossed aside; a show would give them more of a chance to flesh themselves out. All while exploring the deep themes and concepts that made them some of the best comic books Marvel ever made.
In a perfect world; it’d function as it’s own entity like Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage did. Tying it into Avengers movies is not a bad idea either, but with the right writing staff; Live Action X-Men can be a masterpiece.
