Why Is Comic Accurate To You? Or Do You Not Care?

The MCU takes liberties with comic storylines. To say the least. My personal disappointment was the Gorr adaptation, but Drax MCU vs his Annihilation version is a close second disappointment. Both interpretations basically make sense in the MCU, for me, and I like them for what they ultimately are. Alternately, I think Captain America in the MCU is a nice twist on the character and that Tony Stark is far superior now in all media because of RDJ. This is definitely an eternal discussion about any adaptation, but I’m curious about the coming movies that share the same title as comic book source material: what do you think is essential from page to screen? submitted by /u/10thDoctorHairGel [link] [comments]

What are your hopes and wishes for the next Spider-Man project(s)?

Image
After the release of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, many people have been satisfied with the direction that movie took: Peter losing his identity and his ties with the MCU characters (I don’t know if the people lost memories of Peter or the memories changed to memories of Spider-Man). As of now, there aren’t much news of the next Spider-Man movie(s) and Tom Holland’s appearances as Spider-Man. What are some things you wish to see in the Spider-Man projects? Me personally, I’d like to see Michael Mando back as Mac Gargan, but becoming the Scorpion and getting his revenge (on Spider-Man). It felt like he was teased as a future villain, but I could be wrong and the purpose of the scene was to show that Adrian Toomes (Vulture) was protecting Peter. Michael Mando has been one of the best actors in the “Better Call Saul” series and I think it’s time that Marvel gets him back, but not as a one-time villain. Here’s a video of him talking about his appearance in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.

Do you guys want Bucky to finally suit up as the White Wolf?

Image
*Poster by me Ever since the end of Black Panther I’ve been wanting this to happen! I love how they’ve established ties between Bucky and Wakanda and I really hope he shows up in the next Black Panther film or gets his own spin off where he evolves into the White Wolf! Also I gave him Steve’s Wakandan shield since he gave his regular shield to Sam, and I figure Bucky should get one too. submitted by /u/BenSolo_Cup [link] [comments]

What’s up with the whole Wanda vs Thor debate?

When did this drama start between Wanda vs Thor? I’m still relatively new to this, and have only been closely following marvel since 2021, but why is there so much hatred between the two. And why does this sub hate Wanda stans so much more than Thor stans? In my experience, both are equally as toxic. It’s just confusing, cause both characters have really cool powers and both have been written so poorly in their recent installments. Can’t we agree on that? submitted by /u/Cool_Release8356 [link] [comments]

Are you excited for the New Avengers in the MCU?

For me it's 50/50, they are some characters I like like Doctor Strange or Spider-Man though this last one is tricky to know if he'd be a member in the Kang Dynasty. And according to rumors Sam Wilson will be leading a new team of Avengers in his movie. What are your thought on this? Are you excited? Any concerns for this moving forward? submitted by /u/Legitimate_Floor_687 [link] [comments]

My thoughts on chaos magic

I kind of see chaos magic as being so strong because it is a way to give the user exactly what they want. When Wanda concentrates it gives her telekinetic powers. Allows her to see into people's heads and make them see what he wants. When she's not concentrating and just let's it out, purposefully or accidentally, it gives her what she wants without restraint. She wanted a home, life in a small town, and a family with Vision and it straight up built him, a house, and took over a small town in seconds. She wanted a child and had preteens within a day. During the connotation in the town she wanted them to stop talking and in a moment of no control she choked 10+ people standing around her. submitted by /u/DiscoveryDiscoveries [link] [comments]

Movie critics

Ok. Long time lurker, first time poster The thesis that I want to run with is that movie critics are like doctors in a way. A doctor has to constantly update their medical knowledge with the latest techniques and couple it with the knowledge they already have to make themselves good doctors. Theoretically. I believe a good movie critic should always do their homework by watching movies - new and old - to make themselves better critics. The more movies they watch, the more well rounded a movie critic they are. Theoretically. Anyways, I’m on a rewatch click. I started with avengers. Along the way, I’ve been reading some of the more famous movie critics to see how their knee jerk reactions to the movie match with my own thoughts on it. What I would think would be awesome would be for a Richard roeper or a Matt seitz, to go back and rewatch the MCU to get a real critical take (not critically drunk) of these movies and how they stack up as a movie series. Reading some of the critical r

How Strong is MCU Bucky? Or Steve, for that matter?

Image
I was rewatching a bit and this scene stuck out to me, especially with what we've seen in FATWS (some would call it nerfing) and, of course, with Thunderbolts coming out. How strong is Bucky? We know the Iron Man suit is pretty dang strong (in terms of ability to lift). The suits have lifted cars. Rhodey bragged about lifting a tank, and that was a year before Civil War (so we assume Tony's civil war suit is better than what Rhodey had). In this scene, Bucky is moving Tony's arm backward and the beam away from Steve. He's doing it with one arm -- and his biological one, at that, which is presumably not as strong as the metal one. That's some pretty impressive strength. (I'd have turned this into a gif but I can't for the life of me bothered to find something free to do it with). I think most of us figure Bucky and Steve are about equally matched in terms of strength, even though Bucky got the Nazi/Hydra version of the serum. But Marvel seems to put Buc

"Not every movie can be the same quality as Infinity War or End Game"

I would like to open up a discussion. My stance is that the title is a blatant lie. When talking about scale or scope, sure, She-Hulk can't be Infinity War; however, in quality, it sure can. See, the MCU is split into three sections, origin stories, sequels, and saga enders. I believe in the idea of "if someone's done it before, they can do it again". If Marvel has made origin stories on the level of Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy before, why can't every origin story be that quality? Is there something unique about Iron Man that can't be replicated? No. Genuinely, i'd like to know why every origin story can't be of that quality. Are the budgets lower? Have writers left? No. They just don't care about quality. If they've made sequels on the level of Ragnarok, or Winter Soldier, why can't every sequel be on that level? It's not like Winter Soldier has the same scale as Infinity war. If they've made TV shows on the level of

Just me who's a bit confused on how Spiderman/Venom are going to cross over in future movies??

I've probably missed something so please put in the comments because i've heard so many different things. Are they going to cross over?? So, as we know, Eddie/Venom were brought to the MCU in LTBC after credits, but in NWH end credits, they are sent back to the universe we all know and love from Tom Hardy's Venom. But, a bit of the symbiote is left behind. So, will either Spider-man make an appearence in Venom 3, or Venom in spider-man 4? Or, will there just be an entirely different symbiote like in LTBC? This may have been answered already and i just haven't done my research so please if you know anything please let me know!! edit: I forgot to mention i don't read the comics, call me basic but i honestly don't have the effort or time to read them^^ submitted by /u/eve_ni05 [link] [comments]

Why DO you like Wakanda Forever?

After seeing the recent post on what's not to like about the film, I'm curious to know what people really love about Wakanda Forever? Is there anything more to love besides Angela Bassett's acting, Namor's character, and the costume design? For me, it's one of my personal favorite Marvel movies because of it's emotional gravitas. The MCU movies/series Patterns that I noticed, based on the Sequels they made so far... (Part 2)

Well, here we go again with the Part 2 this time. It's now focusing on the Multiverse Saga. And now, here are the Pattern 4-6 as the continuation from my last post: 4️⃣ Pattern 4: Losing Someone Who's been with You from the Very Beginning, yet Gaining Something Big in Return ➡️ Apparently, this is way much worse than losing part of what superheroes have. This is when they ended up losing someone who's been very important in their lives like: Avengers IV: Endgame (at first Hawkeye lost his family because of the blip, he then becoming the Ronin to do basically the Punisher's job during the 5 years, then unfortunately he had to lose Black Widow at first in order to get the Soul stone, & finally the Avengers losing Iron Man shortly after doing the snap to kill Thanos' entire squad, yet somehow this leads to the birth of the mutants after the snap from the Iron Man) & Thor IV: Love & Thunder (losing Jane Foster due to her having a leukemia & her using

If/when there is a Black Panther 3, who would y'all like to be the villain?

Doom would be a cool villain, but I personally think that it depends on how he is set up beforehand. Klaue returning may seem silly, but I would be down for it as he wasn't done justice. We don't know what they did with his body after Killmonger gave it to Wakanda, so what if they buried it and it managed to absorb some of the heart shaped herb that Shuri planted in the forest which brought him back to life all distorted. Just a thought. I wouldn't mind seeing Achebe in the big screen. I personally would like this to be tied to T'Challa jr (when he is older obviously. Perhaps he could be a friend of T'Challa from Haiti whose village got infected with a serious disease. He asks T'Challa for the heart-shaped herb from Wakanda, but T'Challa refuses for obvious reasons. That is when Achebe becomes the villain and seeks to essentially ruin the lives of the royal family. Think of him as the equivalent of Prometheus from Arrow. submitted by /u/Realistic_An

The WGA Strike is almost over. Lawyers are now finalising a new 3-year contract that writers and producers have agreed on to end the historic 145-day strike

Image
Fucking finally! Good job on WGA for sticking to their guns and fighting till the end. Studios said that they would starve writers out but it seems studios are now in a tough enough financial spot to want to end this as soon as possible. What this means for the MCU: Cap 4 will have its scheduled rewrites and reshoots probably by the end of the year. The film has finished shooting since June and is very deep in post-production. It will definitely reach its currently scheduled July date and there is a chance it is even moved up to its previous May date. Deadpool 3 was almost halfway through filming and only has ~2.5 months left, so it will be done by the end of the year and will likely be ready for release by the end of 2024, so I am predicting that it will go back to its original November 2024 date. Thundberbolts has enough time to finish its rewrites and start production almost immediately in October once the SAG strike ends, which gives it enough time to likely make i

Favorite Phase 4 movie that other people seem to hate?

I have to go with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It felt different from the other ones visually due to Sam Raimi injecting his style into it. I enjoyed it more than the first one. The plot is a little messy but I enjoyed it all the way through. MCU "redemption arcs"

Image
Thoughts on the above poll? I have a quite a few issues with it, the first being whether Loki, who obviously won by quite a landslide, can even be classed as having a redemption arc (yet)? At best, Loki S1 left off with him being something of an anti-hero – his motivations to stop Kang can't entirely be classed as a feat of heroism. It's just that Kang is a threat that's bigger than all of them & he played a part in releasing it (also, before Quantumania, he'd have been the only one to know about it). I know we love Loki, myself included, but if we're being realistic, his journey hasn't yet reached the point of an actual redemption arc. Second is the Winter Soldier. I mean, Bucky has always been a good guy, he was just brainwashed into doing what he did. It's fairly different from Black Widow who was psychologically induced, but nothing to the extent of mind control like Buck. I don't think he had anything to redeem except public image, but he

How Much Will Jonathan Majors Be in Loki?

Source : thedirect A recent report detailed that Jonathan Majors will be featured in around three of the six episodes in Loki Season 2, so fans can expect to see him a decent amount in the upcoming show. It is entirely possible and maybe even likely that Majors will not only portray Victor Timely in Season 2 but other Kang Variants as well - maybe even Kang the Conqueror again. Since Kang is slated to be the major antagonist of the MCU for the foreseeable future, it would make sense for him (and/or his Variants) to be involved with Loki in a "big" way. However, only time will tell just how much Marvel Studios will put the actor on-screen, but it will probably be a substantial amount. submitted by /u/OneAboveAII0 [link] [comments]

Why are people saying the High Evolutionary is what Kang should have been?

I enjoyed Iwuji's performance, but the "lunatic who flies off the handle at the slightest thing that doesn't go his way" does not fit Kang at all imo. Kang is supposed to be smart and effective, seeing as he's the next overarching big bad. This is one of people's main gripes with Quantumania, that Kang fell short in competence. The Evolutionary constantly shoots himself in the foot and it's made blatantly clear that he's an incompetent idiot who severely overestimates his abilities, what with his hyped gravity manipulation getting foiled by something Rocket invented on a whim. Timeline if Captain America "star-spangled" Granny Banner

In the first episode of She-Hulk , we receive 2 facts: (1) Captain America was not a virgin as he had sex with a random USO girl in 1943 (episode post-credits scene if you missed it). and (2) Bruce and Jen share a rare generic marker for Gamma affinity. With both these items introduced essentially together, the narrative principle of Chekhov's Gun implies the Hulks are Cap's illegitimate grandkids. Here is a timeline based on MCU wiki information: 1943 - Captain America "Fucks" a USO girl. 1944 - latest year an illegitimate child of Captain America can be born. 1962 - illegitimate child reaches reasonable child-bearing age (18). December 18, 1969 - Bruce Banner is born to Brian Banner (sibling of Elaine Ann Banner). 1985-95 - Elaine Ann Walters (née Banner) gives birth to Jennifer Walters (year based on Tatiana Maslany birthday and the "early 90's" She-Hulk birthday from the wiki).
