I know Edgar Wright left the first Ant-Man movie mid-production before Payton Reed took over. How much of the final movie was Wright's and how would the movie have been different had Wright stayed? submitted by /u/XLBR424 [link] [comments]

In Endgame Why Send Nat and Clinton to Vormir? It’s a Tactical mistake.

Barton and Natasha are both SHIELD trained spies, and both have similar skill sets, sending Clinton and Nat on the same mission is tactility redundant. Why not pair the spies with different Avengers to have more variety? Changing their partners changes the outcome of the movie yea, but Nat’s sacrifice on Vormir was made due to a poor choice in Avengers strategy. submitted by /u/spycharlie [link] [comments]

I want to shed some light on an MCU Youtuber I've been a fan of for a while, and call on others to be careful with misinformation.

Image
The Cosmic Wonder. Overall, good channel, positive guy who posts MCU news, theories, and speculation and I have been subscribed to him for quite some time. Not sure how the rest of the sub feels about him, but I've been a fan. When the Jonathan Majors news broke, he was very objective in his first video about it, staying impartial and NOT jumping to conclusions until more information was known. Which was good. However today, after the texts between JM and his supposed girlfriend were released, he posted a video with the title: "BREAKING! Jonathan Majors PROVED INNOCENT By TEXTS" https://preview.redd.it/ehdk0pfhsyqa1.png?width=1094&format=png&auto=webp&s=c57c63feacc3bbfbb9386fb425475fa228f0c5ec As for the thumbnail, it's self explanatory. But in case it doesn't load for some people; it says "INNOCENT" with a big red arrow pointing to the screenshot of texts, and a photo of Jonathan. I'm highlighting this because of the importanc

What are your thoughts on comic Wanda being Jewish Romani while mcu Wanda is not?

I don't have a problem with this really and I hold no negativity toward Elizabeth Olsen. She wasn't the one who casted herself. But there seems to be a lot of people on tiktok and tumblr who do. Like the hate she gets is intense and even worse than some celebrities who've actually done really bad shit. The worst thing she seems to have done is spoken a couple times in ignorance across like ten years but those few times had people who dislike her casting really latching on. So I was wondering if I could get people's thoughts on this. Pls be civil. submitted by /u/Blueberrypielove [link] [comments]

How did Shuri get stabbed?

How the heck did Shuri get stabbed, in Wakanda Forever? It’s already established in the first Black Panther that the vibranium suit blocks all guns and sharp objects. The only reason T’Challa defeats Killmonger is because he times the use of a sword with the passing off the train/subway, as the machine propelling it forward disrupts the vibranium protection of the suit. In the sequel, there is no machine present to do it, and Shuri/the Black Panther is on the beach. Even if she is a slender woman wearing the suit, it would operate the same and deflect stabs, even from vibranium blunt instruments. There was no disruptor! There is no exposition to explain a different function of the suit, aside from superficial differences. As far as I can tell, the movie is decent, but the third and final act did too much and has some inconsistencies. I’m moving away from the original prompt and rambling now, but that’s probably my main concern with Phase 4 and beyond. Good ideas, but plot inconsis

A theory about America Chavez's origin in the MCU. Swipe when I tell you for max effect.

Image
This is more a hypothesis since I've yet to see Quantamania so please no spoilers. But this is an idea I had in science that is based off up coming projects and what was in the comics. So what do we know of America's origin right now? She's from the Utopian Parallel and accidently opened a portal to God knows where and maybe killed her parents but probably not. This kind of origin is ripe for expansion so here's what I will end up happening. In the comics, the Utopian Parallel was a fake dimension a rich dude created to experiment on children he called Starlings to find a cure for something called Edges Syndrome. While it does look like the MCU is using the old origin, that's what the comics looked like too. I don't think Edges Syndrome will be adapted but the sister revealed in that comic could be, but enough on those, let's get down to the hypothesis. So here's the hypothesis, America is an experiment of Kang the Conqueror! Swipe here please. I

Daredevil exhaustion

This is quickly becoming my least anticipated project. First because of the constant need to compare everything about this to the Netflix show (which wasn’t the greatest thing ever made btw). And secondly I kinda feel we have exhaust this character and their side of the universe in said Netflix show. It’s bizarre that nothing about the hype or announcements around this show are ANYTHING NEW. Like No announced new characters. No rumored new locations. Even the story doesn’t seem new. Yes, I’m less enthusiastic about this than Echo… gasp! Echo can be anything. Literally anything. While this show seems to specifically just want to be the old show (which I repeat, wasn’t the greatest thing ever). That old show is less than 10 years old. Why do we need to literally nostalgia bait for things less than 10 years old? Oh, I know, because No Way Home made nearly 2 billion dollars and only Nostalgia can save the MCU now. submitted by /u/AdeDamballa [link] [comments]

Let's talk about Ultron

I was just thinking about how cool his singing of Pinocchio's there are no strings on me was, and I was amazed at how he was just born, yet, downloaded practically all human knowledge off of the web in minutes. He's basically a sentient being, and yet, he has pretty much all knowledge, but you could tell he was immature and didn't know what to do with it. He took on a part of the personality of his "father", Tony stark, and you can see that he had emotions such as anger, compassion, etc. What an impressive villain he was, and it would be pretty cool to get more of an in-depth look into his mindset. Such an underutilized villain in the films! submitted by /u/EMSuser11 [link] [comments]

The MCU and the SSU: How I think it all ties together within the next ten years.

After the new rumor from Cosmic Circus of Kingpin, Mr. Negative, Kraven, and Scorpion appearing in Spider-Man 4 came out, I think I finally get what Sony's doing with their long term plan. I realize this isn't generally popular among MCU or SSU fans since most I come across on both sides seem to want to keep the two completely separate, and this whole write-up may very well not be what they're planning at all because it's basically all rumors at this point, but just from the latest developments we've heard, both through rumors and official sources, this is what I can personally piece together. Keep in mind, I may word some or all of this in a definitive sense, but I don't know what Sony's actually doing and this is only my theory. Be aware: this will probably be a very long read. * Kraven the Hunter (October 6, 2023) - More or less, outside of a few references to Venom and Morbius here and there, Kraven's probably gonna be a standalone movie, much l

Ideas for special presentations

ironlad. This would be based on the only myself left to conquer storyline of Kang trying to turn his teenage self into Kang and teenage Kang rejecting it. A doctor Doom documentary made by Doom. It's a parody of political propaganda and has Doom exagerate his positive traits and ignore his negatives. Ideally this would be a few months after getting a Dr Doom show going over his origins then get this which is the super exagerated version of it making Doom look like the greatest human to ever live. I also imagine there would be at least 5 minutes that are randomly dedicated to why Doom is better than Reed because he literally can't shut up about being better than Reed Once Dr Doom and Valeria Richards are both established give them a special. Valeria goes to live with Doom after getting mad at Reed so now Doom is balancing being a good Godfather whilst coming up with plans to destroy her father. And the kid is being so unreasonable by saying he can't kill Reed Richards. A

What shows are going to have multiple seasons?

So far (from what I can see) only Loki and What if have got second seasons lined up, with Ms Marvel, She Hulk and Hawkeye maybe getting more but I've seen nothing confirmed. After promising to cut down on content Marvel has: Secret Invasion, Loki S2, What If S2, Ironheart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, Wonderman, Vision Quest, A Wakanda show, a Nova show(?), and a bunch more animated shows and special presentations supposedly coming to Disney+ in the in the next few years (although it's almost been half a year since She-Hulk ended and SI still doesn't have a release date so I'm assuming most of these are a long way away). So the question is where are they going to fit a second season to anything into this? I know some of these are going to be miniseries but if they all end up being miniseries then what's the point? So much of the magic of television is watching characters grow and change for better or for worse over the years, and every

What other Marvel villains can achieve staying power in the MCU?

Most MCU villains are one and done, but I think many will agree that a universe of heroes can only be more interesting if it had some permanent villains to contend with. But those kinds of villains need goals that don’t make death the only possible way to stop them. So far, we have Baron Zemo, Namor (whose villainy is questionable), the Abomination (whose continued villainy is now questionable as well), and possibly some others I’ve forgotten. If the MCU introduces Latveria (I still like the idea of it rising out of the ashes of Sokovia), Doom might gain the same diplomatic immunity that got Black Panther out of trouble. His goals are often grand, but he’s smart enough to know when to withdraw or use proxies. Magneto is another one that often manages to escape and/or use proxies. What other villains can manage to carve out a piece of the MCU for themselves and become a constant burr against our heroes without flying too close to the sun and getting themselves killed? submitted

Thought Experiment - MCU Netflix Marvel

For this experiment every marvel Netflix thing is canon to the MCU. People argue both but nothing has actually negated their canon status and a lot of things show the opposite. Regardless, this is just a thought experiment. You can add anything to any piece of content that has not been released yet. How would you all tie everything you liked about the marvel Netflix shows to the MCU now? Here are some of my ideas: -Colleen Wing and Misty Knight are the antagonists of the Ten Rings show with Xu Xialing. Not sure of the plot but that would be interesting. -Punisher is in the Daredevil Born Again show and once he is spun off into his own show he is hunting down Bullseye for some reason. His path crosses with Typhoid Mary who is also hunting down Bullseye for reasons. They have an antagonistic partnership or rivalry throughout the whole show. Danny Rand shows up, while the show is a partial global trotting adventure, and he interacts with Typhoid Mary and in the show it is made clear

What are some moments from the comics you would love to see done justice and adapted into the MCU? #1 for me is Dooms interaction w/ Thanos during Secret Wars (iykyk)

My personal list of moments from the comics I would love to see attempted at some point in the MCU: Hyperion/ Thor in final stand vs Beyonders (Avengers & New Avengers) “Hyperion: “Will you wait for me in Valhalla?” Thor: “Brother, this day I will race you there God King Doom ripping out Thanos’ spine in (Secret Wars) God King Doom extinguishing Cyclops w/ the Phoenix Force and also Black Panther w/ the infinity gauntlet in Secret Wars. Peter Parker Spider-Man finally gets venom symbiote suit. Ben Grimm (The Thing) taking out his grief and frustration fighting against Hulk and Thor after losing Johnny Storm after Johnny sacrificed himself in the negative Zone to the Annihilation Wave. Spider-Man finally having a moment when he gets serious and doesn’t hold back (almost killing Kingpin) (already kind of happened in No Way Home w/ Green Goblin) / one of the villains having a realisation that he has been holding back and pulling his punches this whole time so not to kill anyone

excellent documentary

Image
I think it is very important as fans of this cinematic universe to get glimpses into the creation of this character that we love. This little show did exactly that and I'm very grateful. There should be more stuff like this because I'll admit there are many moments I have rewatched that never resonated with me but seeing it from the perspective of the creators puts a lot into perspective. This makes me appreciate the MCU more because you realize it's not just about the cgi battles or big explosions or cheesy humor there is a heart to it in all these projects whether you love it or not. The vitriol we see a lot today on mcu Twitter I believe is because the vocal minority of the fanbase have forgotten to look at and respect these little moments that made us fall in love with these projects in the first place and are now interested in saying the most controversial things for virality sake. There will always be a need for conversations on criticizing media I believe it'

who would watch this?

Title: The Quest for the Infinity Stones Logline: A group of heroes from different worlds must band together to save the universe from a powerful villain who seeks to use the Infinity Stones for his own destructive purposes. Premise: The Quest for the Infinity Stones is an epic adventure movie that brings together some of the most beloved heroes from popular franchises like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and more. The movie follows the story of a powerful villain named Thanos, who seeks to gather all six Infinity Stones to achieve ultimate power and reshape the universe according to his own twisted vision. As Thanos embarks on his quest, a diverse group of heroes from different worlds and dimensions are called upon to stop him. Among them are Iron Man, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, and many more. Despite their differences in personality and abilities, they must learn to work together and combine their strengths to save the universe. The movie t

When Should You Actually Watch 'The First Avenger?'

I think most timeline orders, including Disney+, put Captain America: The First Avenger at the beginning of any MCU watchthru. But I wonder if that's the best place given that the World War II movie is bookended by scenes in the modern day. The movie doesn't explain who Nick Fury is or what is the organization that is holding Steve Rogers; the scene relies on our previous knowledge of the other Phase 1 movies to fill in those gaps. My question is: Should you actually watch The First Avenger after Thor (or whenever the modern scenes take place -- I haven't read Fury's Big Week, which posits that at least two or three of the Phase 1 movies all took place within the same week)? Of course, this would mean that the new beginning of the MCU would be the Agent Carter TV series (which I liked) and later one-shot. submitted by /u/MaterialPace8831 [link] [comments]

mcu deadpool discussion

My friend was saying that deadpool wouldn't have fit well in the past phases of the mcu and I decided to give my point on it. I think Deadpool would have fit in well with the more self-aware and meta style of the second phase of the MCU. His meta-textual sense of humor would have meshed well with the MCU's more self-referential style, and his fourth-wall-breaking would have been fun to see interact with the MCU's more reality-warping elements. And helped paved the way for the x-men may films earlier as it could have deadpool not as heroic, but more of a mercenary like his comic book adaptation making him a threat, and would have pave the way for, a world of mutants in the mcu before wanda, and make it so the villains of the x-men have shine, against the other heroes, or at least acknowledge the villains, or even the comic book rivalry of thanos and deadpool. And deadpool's forth wall breaking could have helped tease future projects in a fun insane deadpool way, but th

MCU as X-Men related content

I just thought it would be an interesting concept to think about. This is how I'd do this would just be X-men related content. Phase 1: Iron Man - Cyclops. I'd introduce Jean Grey, as Scott's love interest. It would be an origin story for Cyclops, while I think it could be done right, I'm not sure who the villain would be. Post credit scene would be Professor X coming to Cyclops. Incredible Hulk - The Raging Beast. Seems like the most logical sense. Here, he would appear human at the beginning, but as he tests on himself, he turns grey, than ultimately would grow the famous blue fur. The villain of this film could be the Wendigo (similar to the unmade Beast film) Iron Man 2 - Cyclops 2, Jean would be here, and Iceman would be introduced as the Rhodey style friend. Though Bobby would be a bit annoying to Cyclops. Again, I'm not sure who Cyclops would battle. Avalanche, maybe? This would set him up for the team up film. Thor - Colossus. I personally feel it could

Help me wrap my head around Endgame

During the pandemic, I got more into marvel and re-watched the movies after watching falcon and the Winter soldier. I keep pondering the time travel dilemma in Endgame, in particular with Steve. I know this has been discussed, (I Googled) and the writers have even said that Peggy’s children were always Steve’s, but it doesn’t really jive with the explanation of time travel that they gave in endgame, so I kind of think they slapped that on as explanation. So… We know that Steve did not have a shield when he went back in time. It was destroyed. Therefore, he had nothing to pass on to Sam. We know that he told Bucky what he was planning, and that specifically included that he was planning to pass the shield onto Sam, a shield he didn’t have. So, he had to have planned in advance that he would go back in time, and spend his life with Peggy and somehow find another (presumably vibranium) shield, and then end up in the same timeline, without altering the past enough to create a different

Did Spiderman No Way Home retcon a lot of things?

Spoilers for anyone who still hasn't seen it. I only saw the movie once and haven't thought about it for some time, so I could be remembering wrong, but part of everyone forgetting Peter included him losing all the tech he got from Stark, right? I feel like it's a small detail that retcons a bunch of history. If he still had some tech - whatever he had on him like, say, his suit and whatever was in his apartment - then it's easy to say Strange's spell just made everyone forget about him and, like dream logic, their brains just masked over inconsistencies that Peter's absence created, but that's not what happened. Without Stark's technology it seems like Stark never teamed up with him at all, which would've made battles go differently. I don't think it's a stretch to say Stark industries could've teamed up with Spiderman, made suits and tech for him, without knowing his identity. submitted by /u/thdiod [link] [comments]
