I want to shed some light on an MCU Youtuber I've been a fan of for a while, and call on others to be careful with misinformation.
The Cosmic Wonder. Overall, good channel, positive guy who posts MCU news, theories, and speculation and I have been subscribed to him for quite some time. Not sure how the rest of the sub feels about him, but I've been a fan. When the Jonathan Majors news broke, he was very objective in his first video about it, staying impartial and NOT jumping to conclusions until more information was known. Which was good. However today, after the texts between JM and his supposed girlfriend were released, he posted a video with the title: "BREAKING! Jonathan Majors PROVED INNOCENT By TEXTS" As for the thumbnail, it's self explanatory. But in case it doesn't load for some people; it says "INNOCENT" with a big red arrow pointing to the screenshot of texts, and a photo of Jonathan. I'm highlighting this because of the importance of having reliable/credible sources, doing your own research, and not jumping to conclusions. With the hopes that some of his 944,000 subscribers are perhaps in this sub; those texts do not prove anything. If anything, they raise more questions than answers. As much as I want JM to be innocent and the case to be resolved in the best way possible. People with a platform such as Cosmic Wonder absolutely CANNOT be posting stuff like this while the case is still ongoing. Until the case is fully closed and a concrete outcome is reported. It's not cool to be posting a video with a title and thumbnail like that, and to continue to insinuate that he is deemed innocent for the rest of the 9 minute video? Downright silly. It worries me even more that alot of the comments on the video are along the lines of "thank goodness he's innocent", "it's good he's innocent", etc... I can't believe I have to say this, but PLEASE don't take legal advice from an MCU Youtuber, and don't take everything as fact. As for Cosmic Wonder because I know he's in this sub. Not cool of you to run with that title/thumbnail, not cool at all. You have 944,000 people that subscribe to your channel and average nearly 40,000 views on your videos. Please be mindful of the information you put out. [link] [comments] |
