Daredevil and Kingpin in the MCU: some hopes thoughts/hopes/theories

Many people have voiced their concerns about Daredevil and Kingpin coming to the MCU, with Kingpin’s appearance in Hawkeye not sitting well with many. For me personally, I think now is the perfect time narratively for both characters to enter the MCU, and what we’ve seen so far has gotten me excited. First, I think after Season 3 of Daredevil, a status quo change is welcome, since Fisk has now be thwarted twice. Daredevil’s victory in season 3 felt particularly righteous, and had Fisk simply been the villain of a potential season 4, I think there was a chance it would cheapen the heroic stand Matt took against Fisk, since he managed to basically get Fisk to surrender. Instead of Season 4 following on from the Netflix show, the next season will follow on from the prior events of the MCU, most importantly the snap. Personally, I like the idea that Matt could have been snapped, while Fisk was not. This would explain why Fisk is out in public, committing crime, without cheapening Matt’s

Moon knight theory

I have a theory about the third personality and I actually think he was the first new personality. When mark was in the cave what if when the cave was filling with water and his brother was screaming for help it was so stressful for such a young mark he couldn’t bring himself to leave BUT his more ruthless alter personality could do he developed a new personality just to survive or konshu just made a new personality to control mark and he made this personality even more ruthless and killer like that he would go along with konshu and his ideas submitted by /u/nonamesjustgames19 [link] [comments]

Marvel Studios' villains - too sympathetic or not sympathetic enough?

Image
I'm leaning towards the former. Yeah. You heard me. First off, Karli Morgenthau. The infamous ginger played by Erin Kellyman. Wow. Let me just preface it I would've preferred someone with a batshit insane goal and a straight-laced personality, than a straight-laced goal combined with a batshit insane morality. Marvel accidentally gave its villain a candy, then watered her with some acid. Karli is a freedom fighter and a terrorist at the same time, which doesn't mesh well. And yes, I'm aware of the proverb, before any of you quotes it to me, but here it's not applicable. The show seems very confused as to what stance it's trying to support. Maybe the true benefactor was good ol' Isaiah Bradley, who saw it was a losing game and decided not to interfere with white people's bullshit. Now it's time for Wanda Maximoff. You can stop crying, girl. Nobody's falling for that. PICK A LANE, MARVEL! How the hell does it happen again? You want

I really hope the main villain isn’t “toxic males”

Turning Intelligencia into a 4-Chan or Evil Dude Bro Reddit, I think can work as a idea as long as there’s still a comic book supervillain behind it all. I think it would be very lazy on the show’s part for the entity behind it to just be a generic toxic white guy. For a show that I feel like has struck a nice balance on handling the subject matter without coming off preachy it would be a letdown if that’s all we’re building too. submitted by /u/Key_Squash_4403 [link] [comments]

Starting of Deadpool 3

So I think they'll start with the marvel intro and then Deadpool will stop it in between saying it's the wrong intro, bring back the old one and then he goes like wait a minute when he realizes that his universe has been changed and get to know about Disney fox deal through sone kind of media and then he'll break the 4th wall, asking audience whether they know all about this or not? And he'll say something like, "if that's the case, then play the intro, that was playing" while he'd be vibing with the intro and saying this intro looks better than the older one and appreciates Kevin for the deal. Main idea is him stopping the MCU intro. Imo it'd be little funny seeing Ryan talking about this but yeah it's kind of little lame too but this is what I think, what do y'all think? submitted by /u/madara_unofficial [link] [comments]

Are all ex-Fox properties now owned by Marvel?

Image
My question is simple, after Disney bought Fox, did all Marvel characters owned by them (X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc) get transferred to Marvel Studios' ownership? Like, if Disney somehow breaks up one day, will those characters be owned by Marvel and not Fox? I always assumed yes but I think it's now been confirmed since Deadpool 3's "logo" shows Marvel Studios' logo on top, instead of Fox's or whatever. AITA for wanting to postpone my wedding from June 9th to September 6th 2024 because I want to watch Deadpool 3 on opening night??

My finance and I have been engaged for 2 years now. The original date for our wedding was on June 9th 2024 (as you can probably guess from the title) but with the recent news that Deadpool 3 is releasing on 09/06/2024, I asked my fancy if we could postpone the wedding to Stepsember 6th instead. This really pissed her off. She said if I’d rather watch a superhero movie than get married to her, we should just call the wedding off altogether. I told her to stop being reddickulous. She’s making me sleep on the couch for the next 2 weeks. She’s not into Marvel movies so she doesn’t understand how important Deadpool 3 is because of Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine IN THE MCU. I tried explaining that to her but she won’t listen. Ah well. submitted by /u/AndromedaIcedLatte [link] [comments]

Which non-MCU Marvel Characters/Actors you know (realistically) aren't coming back, or are too hard to get, but hope to see again in Secret Wars?

No joke, for me it's Jared Leto's Morbius, just for the absurdity of seeing him interact with anyone on-screen, but also the begrudging acknowledgement of the Sony Spider-man Universe. A more serious answer would be Eric Bana's Hulk, or anyone from the Fant4stic (2015) cast. submitted by /u/Shortroundbinks3 [link] [comments]

Jessica Jones S1 is better than any season of a Marvel Netflix show

I know a lot of people love Daredevil, and deservedly so, but in my opinion Jessica Jones S1 has the best villain of the Netflix Marvel shows, and deals with some of the best unique situations and characters as well. It even serves as an introduction and crossover with Luke Cage, who would obviously later get his own show which was quality as well. submitted by /u/leviathantheprophet7 [link] [comments]

MCU Starfox

Okay, so Harry Styles has just finished playing his first main character role in the new movie: Don’t Worry Darling, and his acting… was, well, not good, a lot of flaws. So I’m kind of worried about him acting in the same way when he reprised his role as Starfox. Because honestly, Starfox is a pretty cool character, but if he doesn’t get any better, that will be extremely underwhelming. Which upcoming character's debut in the MCU has you the most concerned with how they might portray them?

With all of the upcoming projects that have been announced and even the rumored ones which characters potential portrayal concerns you the most. For me it has to be the Fantastic 4. It is kind of amazing that the MCU has been so successful all without one of the most integral groups in the entire Marvel roster. The Fantastic 4 has played such a huge role in so many of the major Marvel stories that if they fall flat with their new movie it could be disaster. I know there have been F4 movies previously but we all know those were horrible and we pretend they don't exist. Also if the F4 movie is awesome it just makes it so much more likely we finally see Dr. Doooooom in the MCU and we all know we need that! submitted by /u/insanelyphat [link] [comments]

Ant Man should use Ant Man villains

Something that’s bothered me for a while now is how Ant Man movies don’t use his villains: Ant Man and the Wasp: Ghost and Sonny Burch are both Iron man villains Ant man Quantumania: Kang- Avengers/F4 villain, MODOK- Avengers/Iron Man villain Ant Man is the only one that used Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket. Before someone mentions Egg Head, he weren’t even the main villain of the film, he was reduced to being a family member in a flashback to the real antagonist of the film (Ghost). Also he was just Elihas Starr, not Egghead in the mcu. Kang being Ant Man 3’s main antagonist is ridiculous. If power levels weren’t a problem then why couldn’t they have Ultron appear as the main antagonist in a Ant Man movie considering that’s his biggest enemy in comics?! I know Ant Man isn’t the most popular and not many fans read his comics but he has a obscure but fun villains, for example: Ant-Antagonists: The Ant-Antagonists have to be the funniest lamest supervillain group I’ve seen. While t

Slow drip of mutants, who should get in first?

Currently Marvel seems to be intentionally taking their time introducing mutants. This makes me think we aren’t getting MCU X-men anytime soon, but instead we may see a slow buildup of mutants over the next couple phases. Which mutants with histories away from the Xavier school, should they introduce before any actual X-men film is released? From either a world building or fun perspective, doesn’t matter. Personally I hope they bring in David Haller as Legion. Based on his mental condition and powers, they could literally do a new season in the MCU and it could still make sense. Or do you think I am wrong and we will see a huge mutant dump in a single film? submitted by /u/Madholm [link] [comments]

In Black Widow, Yelena states that Dreykov takes more children everyday to train as Widows. However, when they show the map of all the widows worldwide none of them look like they are children and none of the widows at the facility look like children either. Why does no one outright tell Joy about Harold’s intentions and why she was never allowed to know of his existence until the end?

I’m only three episodes into Iron fist season 2 and it may get revealed to her later, but no one has still not told her about the hand’s threat to kill her if Harold told her about anything or about him hitting Ward on multiple occasions just because he didn’t obey. Everything could just be resolved by a simple “Harold told us to keep everything secret from you because the Hand threatened to kill you otherwise”. But instead they constantly tell her in the most cryptic way possible that it was about keeping her safe and not even mentioning Harold. Is this bad writing on the show’s part or is it just to keep it dramatic until the end? submitted by /u/Thedinotamer01 [link] [comments]

Gonna say, pretty tired of the spoiler post that gets let through because it’s marked but the title makes it obvious through inference

I don’t always have time to watch the newest episodes within the first couple days but I still browse this subreddit as there is suppose to be spoiler free. But too many times are there redditors who ask a question or point out a fact semi-vaguely in the topic where it makes it in incredibly obvious what’s gonna happen if you follow the show. Why? For Karma? To be the first to “discover something”? Idk but all off this could be kept into the episode discussion. If we ARE to get cameos in secret wars who do you want it to be?

Because heres the thing, while yes the storyline is about the death of the multiverse and theres quite a lot of earths the mainline earth has to fight before the final two are left and battleworld commences. It Would feel forced if every one of those worlds ended up being a familiar one. Like they skip the mapmakers and black priests so we can have the Spider-Mans world, X-men, 838 and F4 just so happen to have an incursion with mainline earth. Honestly I dont want any cameos, character mirrors sure but cameos no, None of those universes are worth the time to either fight and destroy, or especially merge with. submitted by /u/lelwood_616_ [link] [comments]

Why can’t anyone express a distaste for the MCU?

. Why can’t anyone say anything even slightly negative without toxic positivity coming in droves from the many stans that Kevin Feige and his unimpressive team (VFX artists and the manyyyy overworked and underpaid employees excluded) have half-assedly released? Why can’t it be okay to not like the MCU? Personally, I don’t. There are some movies from their lineup that I can tolerate, but it’s only a few. And, no, I’m not someone who sends hate to people who have the opposite opinion as me, or explain in lengthy paragraphs why you shouldn’t support them. I’m okay with it, I like that people can like it and find something within it that I can’t. My issue, though, is that anytime I say something remotely negative about the MCU—which i never say directly to a fan, i keep it to my platform—I still receive hate from MCU diehards. submitted by /u/burner-in-hell [link] [comments]

How can the MCU solve the 'reactionary/status quo' issue?

Namely the issue that Reed Richards is useless, Hank Pym hasn't done shit, and Tony's inventions are wasted on getting your inner Hulk out. The issue that superheroes are reactionaries, who don't possess long-term plans for improving the social dynamics of the world and solve its most glaring problems. Or maybe I'm asking the wrong question here. Maybe it's not "how can it do so", maybe it's "does it even want to do so?" Because if Marvel isn't interested in one-upping the image of a superhero - from a savior and protector to a creator and visionary - then maybe they shouldn't address or present the issues prominent IRL. If the challenges they want our heroes to face are purely related to emotional, psychological and physical turmoil, then maybe they should just focus on THAT, and not add some political/social filler that isn't going to be sufficiently touched upon. What do y'all think? submitted by /u/Bruhmangodd

Which MCU movies would have been better if they were R-rated??

There's a lot of talk about how a few upcoming movies should be rated R (Deadpool, Blade, Ghost Rider) but which movies already released should have gotten the R-rating? I know people want R-rated movies for the sake of it, and I'm firmly in the camp that believes the narrative has to justify the R. But I think some already released movies could have greatly benefitted from it. submitted by /u/essceebee [link] [comments]

She Hulk is a terrible show and I'm really sad about it.

Every character is simply empty. They are just one dimensional in every way, male or female. So nothing feels more than a joke. There's no room for improving. Comedy is not an excuse for not developing situations. Several comedy shows have personal drama as means for joking and showing motivations. In this show, motivations are said out loud by characters, even during a fight. The show has no plot. Good lawyer shows have a debate about something legal being really discussed, She Hulk doesn't even attempt to make a conversation. After the episode, there's nothing to talk about, no side to be on, no content there's worth expanding. I know not every show needs to be deep. But this is no excuse for simple shallowness. I wish I liked the show. And, to be clear, the problem is not feminism, there are a lot of feminist shows there are incredible (like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). But She Hulk simply lacks substance. And the comic character deser

Seeing what shows and movies are coming after 'She-Hulk' it looks like most of the next continuities is going to have a more serious and dark tone to what's coming after the show. Seeing the trailer for 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', leaked trailer footage of 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', 'Secret Invasion', and seeing most of the other titles having more of a serious style to it. Characters you never thought you'd see?

After watching a video from CBR about characters that will never come to the MCU, it made me wonder about characters I never thought we'd see back in the early days, like Phase 1 and 2. At that time I remember Spiderman was a dream! And Fox was still going strong (somewhat) with X-Men. Daredevil was a character I had lost hope was going to join the MCU as each of his season's came out. But here we are! What are the characters you never imagined would be in the MCU today? submitted by /u/bahbham576 [link] [comments]

How much screentime should MCU protagonists have?

It's because I've been wondering about the balance of focus on characters. Because the main character ought to be the main character, but at the same time they should not completely overshadow side characters, because they need to have some stuff for them to do. As a point of reference, I'll give you the highest screentime counts in all of the MCU: Thor, Love and Thunder (84 minutes) Tony, Iron Man (77 minutes) Stephen (Multiverse of Madness) and Peter (Homecoming) - 76 minutes Stephen, Doctor Strange (73 minutes) Peter, No Way Home (72 minutes) Now, do you think these movies were balanced in terms of focus on their protags and side characters? Or maybe it's the opposite? Personally, I think screentime between 70-75 is just perfect. I wouldn't want a hero to be on screen for less than an hour, and at the same time the idea of the main character being in the movie for 96 minutes, for example, seems kinda ridiculous. submitted by /u/Bruhmangoddman [

Has phase four release schedule played into narrative over ‘declining’ MCU?

There’s been a lot of talk about how the MCU has been in decline in Phase 4, due to disappointment over several recent projects. For the record, I don’t personally subscribe to this view - I think Phase 4 has had some good bits and some not-so-good bits, just like all the previous phases. But has the timing of the latest releases played into that narrative, particularly among fans who prefer darker, more serious fare from Marvel? She-Hulk and Thor: L&T, speaking objectively, are certainly both at the lighter end of the MCU spectrum. MoM, while a lot darker than L&T, was still pretty camp. And Ms Marvel, due to its high school setting, could also appear to be lighter when compared to previous Disney+ shows (although I actually thought it had a lot of depth and maturity). So we’ve had a spate of MCU releases that could all be considered more comedic and less serious than average. But then you look at what’s coming next: in terms of films we’ve got Black Panther 2 and Quantum

Rewatching Loki...I Think It Might Be The Best Thing The MCU Has Produced So Far

I suck at writing up stuff like this, but I enjoyed my rewatch of Loki last night so much I felt compelled to do so. Hiddleston is so on point here. He was clearly having tons of fun, and it's great when you can tell an actor really enjoys playing a character. The story is fantastic, and massive in reach and implication. I don't know how anyone could say nothing has happened in phase 4 when the events of Loki are arguably the most impactful on the universe as a whole, perhaps even more so than the snap. So excited to see more of Jonathan Majors as Kang. submitted by /u/retroracer33 [link] [comments]

How scarred should Doctor Doom's face be in the MCU?

To my knowledge, there are two big versions of how Doom's face appears when unmasked. The big one usually used is that the inciting accident only left a small scar, and when he first put on the mask (still burning hot) is when he became truly scarred, worsening his burns and looking like this. The other is that he isn't fully-scarred, he's just so vain about his looks that only one scar is enough to drive him to cover up his face. Both interpretations I think can work to highlight his vanity. I personally love the former option as I think it really highlights how arrogant/insane Victor can be. submitted by /u/cbekel3618 [link] [comments]

Would Deadpool even fit into the MCU?

I find it hard to believe that they would actually make a rated R movie. And everything he does is just gruesome, the other heroes don’t do stuff like that. Not sure it would even fit well if he is meant to be in the upcoming Avengers movies. submitted by /u/BirdBright3520 [link] [comments]

Thoughts on last She-Hulk. Well, not exactly. Spoiler

I can see a massive potential for the person making the suits. It’s never really been brought up, there are super suits galore. Only a rare few made there own or have the ability to. Now of course this makes me think of “The incredjbles”, so it’s not a original idea. But I would love a side story just with this person making suits for all sorts of heroes in the MCU. submitted by /u/themustacheclubbitch [link] [comments]

Why would Jennifer be ignored on a dating website but not as She-Hulk?

Even in her normal form she is still very attractive. Not a super bombshell, but she’s definitely not one to be turned down. I cant believe that last date she had had to be so picky about which form she’s in. So shallow. submitted by /u/BirdBright3520 [link] [comments]

What is the funniest MCU scene in your opinion?

Tbh, I don’t know how funny the MCU can be, lol. Anyway, they gotta have the hilarious moments right? Let’s see your opinions on the funniest MCU scenes, I’m interested to see some unpopular opinions. submitted by /u/Logical_Garlic_4548 [link] [comments]

I know we’re all sad about Peter & MJ but I’m really going to miss Peter and Ned’s friendship. Jon Watts created pure comedy nectar with them.

I Think the MCU Could/Will Go on Forever

I used to be of the mindset of wanting it to end with endgame. I couldn’t think closer to the opposite now. Think about how big the MCU, I mean it’s literally an entire universe. There’s not just one story that we are following. There’s several franchises connected to multiple arcs across multiple phases in (now) multiple sagas. Any marvel movie by Disney will be in the MCU. So I just feel that as long as people are interested in seeing marvel superheroes the MCU will last. Let’s pretend the mcu never existed and marvel announced that they we’re just flat out done making movies, it sounds crazy, right? That would almost be the equivalent of ending the mcu, to me. The Universe can continue to evolve as were already seeing with the new avengers replacements. As far as it getting too complicated and people wanting to see original characters like Iron Man again, they can soft reboot within the MCU. They have the entire multiverse to use now, so even non-mcu projects are canon. Another

Let's predict and narrow down who Marvel Studios will cast as Nova (Richard Rider and Sam Alexander)

Going off of how Marvel Studios has made their casting decisions so far, as well as all the actors who have been rumored to be in talks with Marvel, it would be fun to narrow it down to a short list of actors (or one actor if you have a good theory about it) who we think are most likely to actually get cast as Richard Rider or Sam Alexander in the MCU. I'm literally obsessed with Nova so I'm speculating about it until we get some more news lol submitted by /u/cryptofutures100xlev [link] [comments]

Maintains the beats of tom’s theme. Added deep somber notes from Andrew Garfield and the uplifting vocal choir of Tobey’s. Masterful.

What’s the most important from the past going forward so far?

I feel like it’s the last episode of Loki! We don’t know what’s coming exactly, and it hasn’t really been referenced at all again yet, but that last ep of Loki in my mind is the most important piece going forward. Thoughts or arguments? submitted by /u/MyJukeboxBrk [link] [comments]
