X-Men during the Blip?

X-Men during the Blip?

There’s been a lot of posts about ideas for the X-Men and all I could think about is the “why didn’t the Eternals help against Thanos” question. If they introduce Mutants they’ll have to deal with this question all over again. Unless…

There weren’t any mutants pre-snap!

Here’s my idea: there’s been some nefarious villain blocking the X gene world wide for decades, but that villain was blipped and during the blip people with the gene developed their powers. When the villain returns their powers are established and can’t be suppressed, but the half that disappeared still don’t have their powers.

These mutants must track down the bad guy and stop him so that all mutants can have their birthright. But society isn’t sure they should. Maybe blocking the X-gene was a good thing all along?

Why I like this idea? We already know the original x-men story. There’s been movies, cartoons, and comics. This way we could see what our beloved characters’ lives would have been like without their powers, then watch them adapt not as awkward teens, but at all stages of life.

But, what about Wolverine? Easy, un-named bad guy started blocking the X-gene after his powers developed so he’s been around all this time keeping his head down / being in the weapon-x program.

You could even play around with when the suppression began. Maybe Magneto and the Professor had their powers but believed they were the only two?
