Would Wandavision have been improved by removing Agatha?

To me, Agatha's presence introduced many problems: The entire Darkhold book which was both yet another Magical McGuffin and caused lots of issues eventually in Multiverse of Madness. Beyond being more extra "lore", it also felt repetitive towards prior MCU works which always revolved around a special McGuffin. It resulted in a very standard big effects driven finale when something more intimate and grounded would have been befitted the show and it's subject matter. Morality wise, it just kinda complicated things. Yeah, you could say it added more complexity but the show's story about the lengths people go to when they're grieving and the moral lines that can be crossed is sorta muddled when you have this twist villain character who poses a genuine threat and has even been doing certain bad things all the time. And who ends up being the final boss rather than Wanda, who caused the entire situation to begin with. On her own, Agatha just didn't have muc

TOPIC: what were the upsides and downsides of skipping certain iconic origin stories in the MCU?

I have Spider-Man and Hulk in mind, but there could be others. Personally, I think it’s a wash. There are definite upsides but also real downsides. Shortcutting the origins save time on screen treading old ground. It’s a clever “have their cake and eat it too” cheat, since we in the audience can port over our emotional attachments to the Raimi SP or even the Ang Lee Hulk (for the real OGs). At the same time, the MCU got to hit a soft reboot button and let their version of SP and Hulk grow organically into their own unique versions. On the downside, however, we missed the opportunity to really get to know these versions on their own terms. Until he loses Aunt May, the MCU SP just didn’t carry the same emotional baggage as the SP that I know and love most. The necessity of keeping his secret identity, even in a world that mostly accepted “super heroes” without them, was missing. And as for Hulk, I really think he should have been testing a gamma bomb and not curing cancer or whatev

Marvel Zombies Theory: They can still make the zombies talk.

Some people (myself included) are upset that Marvel Zombies isn’t giving us the classic Marvel Zombies by not allowing them to talk, but I think there’s a way they can actually do it! My theory is that the reason why the Zombies don’t speak, is because when they’re hungry they become regular zombies, but once they’ve feasted, they are capable of speach. We’ve never seen a Zombie actually eat someone, just infect them. That would also explain Vision feeding Wanda. It’s the only way he can actually speak with her. What do you think? submitted by /u/Cyber-Knight47 [link] [comments]

The MCU should have two separate live action universes, the D+ side, and the Movie side.

So let me start by saying I’m still a pretty die hard MCU fan, but even I can understand and empathise with one of the biggest complaints recently that the introduction of shows as part of the wider MCU can make things really difficult to follow when there’s crossover. I think the easiest way to remedy this is actually quite simple, have the shows exist in their own, separate tied together universe. Now sure, you can’t unring the bell, and shows like Loki, Wandavision and Ms Marvel have already knitted together those branches, but post-secret wars reboot, Feige and Co have a fantastic opportunity to address a big issue with the MCU moving forward and prevent its ultimate decline. You kind of had it with the Netflix shows. Punisher, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist existed (technically) in the MCU but had no wider interaction with it. This meant you didn’t need to have MCU familiarity to love these shows, and vice versa. The Star Wars shows, love them or hate them,

Why is the banner still "The Marvels" when "X-Men '97" and "What If... S2?" have been released?

This isn't hating on "The Marvels"... I enjoyed it. (LOVE Kamala!) But this is now nearly 6 months with the same banner. Are we rolling with this until Deadpool 3 this summer? TV shows are fair game because I remember Loki being up there. Or is it just live-action, and we're ignoring animated shows? Either way, be excellent to each other. BTW, thank you mods for creating the banners! submitted by /u/bob_ross_happy_tree [link] [comments]

MCU Theories (i.e. Young Avengers, next group of Avengers and their teams, and how about SHIELD??)

So lately, I couldn't stop myself from wondering a few different things. And I thought I would put the questions to this community. See if i could find out some of your theories of what's coming. So, first I have to ask, just like how we often saw the OG Avengers, there was this way of looking at the different teams of superheroes that are often working together. And then we would have the sort of team leaders, like IronMan, Thor and Capt. I believe we always said stuff like Team Capt, Team IronMan, Team Thor. I actually always considered myself on Team Capt. So in that context, who would you say will lead the next batch of Avengers? And the team leaders? I imagine we'll likely still have the same "3 teams" but the roster is growing. Also, I loved Young Avengers growing up. So it has a special meaning to me. With the sneak peek at the mid-credits scene of The Marvels, I am feeling hopeful to see it happening. But I don't want to get my hopes up. Any good th

Does Deadpool really see Vanessa or is it an hallucination?

So, in Deadpool 2 there are a few scenes where he talks to Vanessa. Now, when he dies, I guess it makes sense. Like, I can believe that's heaven or whatever. But before, how is it possible? Is it supposed to be an hallucination or what? Just curious of what everyone thinks submitted by /u/Ok-Conclusion-3535 [link] [comments]
