Magneto’s past doesn’t need to be changed.
I’ve seen a lot of people stating that Magneto’s past should be changed as the holocaust was about 80 years ago and it wouldn’t make sense for him to still be alive, with many people suggested instead for him to have been apart of the civil rights movement but I don’t feel like it would hit the same way (professor X on the other hand I think could work fantastically being a member of the civil rights movement)
they could very easily get around this a few different ways
-
He has a second mutant ability it being a regeneration power that’s pretty weak all things considered but has enough oomph to keep him going and decreased his aging slightly.
-
The Nazi’s experimented on him and it decreased his aging before he escaped
-
He was frozen by the Nazi’s (for whatever reason) and awoke maybe 10-15 years prior to the X-men introduction where he began finding other mutants and saw how things were changing and becoming tense maybe the Sokovia accords that when kicked in made him start fearing possible further limitations on those with powers and even though they’ve been revoked he still worries they could get reinstated in some form or fashion
Edit: 4. Retcon it a bit and have the Nazis/Hydra use the tesseract as a way to kill Jews prior to them using it to make weapons (hell have them using it that way to test if it would work good as a weapon) Magneto was one of the test subjects, his mutant powers and abilities allowed him to survive the blast and he gets launched 60 years into the future putting him in his 30s-40s by current time MCU
Whatever reason they want to go with I think it’s important for him to be a survivor of the holocaust because it’s not as simple as “oh he’s worried mutants will be treated differently, segregated, and be forced out of everywhere” instead it’s “oh he’s worried that the absolute worst possible thing that could happen and already has happened to him will come about again with everyone like him being executed in horrific monstrous ways out of fear”
Edit: can we all chill out a bit I wasn’t expecting this to become such a hot button issue, I’d prefer if we kept this civil if you disagree with someone then say you do but try to do it respectfully, and if someone disagrees with you be respectful about it.
