Did Varra just... Die?

ATLA reference aside, I'm pretty sure she's implied to be dead. At the end of SI, Varra was brought off-world to work as a diplomat for Kree-Skrull peace negotiations. This plot thread is followed through in the marvels where said negotiations fall through and result in all but the baker's dozen skrulls the Carol Corps could getting offed.

Varra was nowhere to be seen in the group or anywhere in the movie for that matter. (Just goes to show the fact that this was originally intended to release before secret invasion but let's not get into that.). You'd think Fury would mourn or have literally any reaction to the news that his wife died. I know the guy's a professional, but this seems like it would be a big deal to him.
