How I think the Xmen should be introduced to the MCU

I've been thinking a lot about the xmen and how to introduce an entire race of people that have had 0 reference and justify their existence. What if they just make an xmen movie the way they did last time. Do literally whatever they want with the story and characters (as long as it doesnt suck). Have it reference nothing in the mcu, and have it reveal at the very end that the entire film took place in a completely seperate universe. In the final moments, there is something that completely destroys said universe (an incursion? We are in the "multiverse saga" after all and the idea of this has been introduced) and a number of mutants are saved and transported to the mcu main universe. Now they are refugees and have nowhere to go so this is now their permanent home. Then the 2nd film would take place in the main universe and them being refugees would create an interesting social commentary staying in theme with the racial aspects that is every xmen movie while still making it fresh?
