Marvel Actors on if they’ll return to the MCU

Marvel Actors on if they’ll return to the MCU:

Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange): “I hope so. I would love to do another one. Doctor Strange is such a complex character and it feels like there is so much more to explore with him. He is such a brilliant character and I’m still having a wild time playing him.”

Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America): “As much as I’m connected to that role and love telling those stories and working with those people, it doesn’t quite feel right right now.”

Chris Hemsworth (Thor): “I don’t know if I’m even invited back, but if I was, I think it would have to be a drastically different version in tone, everything, just for my own sanity [Laughs]. Thor lost his mind in that last one. He’s got to figure it out now.”

Scarlet Johansson (Black Widow): “I’m done. Chapter is over. I did all that I had to do. Also coming back and playing a character again and again, over a decade of time, is such a unique experience.”

Michael Douglas (Hank Pym): “It’s a lifetime. It’s an entire generation. I think you have met Kathryn [Newton]. So now, we have a third generation in there. It’s certainly nice, with certain continuity. Every five years, it’s sort of a nice time, kind of ‘Oh man, we got to get back to the suits and all of that.’ You just have to enjoy it. I’m happy to be there. I’ve always had a lovely time with the whole cast and the crew. If I did return for another one though I hope they’d kill me off [laughs].”

Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man): “To me, starting up again is off the table. I feel like I’ve done all I could with that character. There would have to be a super compelling argument and a series of events that made it obvious. But the other thing is, I wanna do other stuff.”

Paul Rudd (Ant-Man): “I have no idea what my future in the MCU or in Marvel is at all. None of this is my call, so I try not to think about it too much. So you'd have to ask the Marvel brass that one.”

Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight): “[Season One] is not the last we’ve seen of the system that is Moon Knight.”

Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch): “It’s a hard question for me to answer, because I feel like my words are always twisted every time I answer it. No, so my no-twist zone is, yes, I hope so, but I have no idea. When I say that, it’s not because I have a loaded answer. It’s because I say, ‘Yes, I hope so,’ and I mean it at face value.”

Mark Ruffalo: (Bruce Banner/Hulk): “I don’t know! I’m always surprised that I’m still here. I mean, me and Ed Norton joke that the Hulk is like our generation’s Hamlet — we’re all going to get a shot at it. I keep waiting for the next version of it. I mean, I’ll probably do it as long as they’ll have me, if people are interested, and I can bring something that’s interesting to me to it, and interesting to the fans. But I have no idea."

Samuel L Jackson (Nick Fury): “Yeah. I love Nick Fury. Of course. Come on. He's a guy who has no superpowers, who's in charge of people who have superpowers, and they let him be. That's something special about him. He's a leader of men that are very different, in another kind of way. It's very satisfying to be a part of a world that I admired for so long when I was a kid. I still buy comic books. I still go to comic book stores. I still read them. But to be able to be that character in that, it's the same as when I was doing Afro Samurai, or any of those comic book characters. It means something to be part of a cultural canon that people revere and that they respect, in another way."
