Rough idea for what if we did get a Hulk solo trilogy during the Infinity Saga

Due to complications with Universal and the Hulk film rights, we were unable to get more Hulk solo films during the Infinity Saga. Like many, I would've loved a Hulk trilogy as he has a lot of potential to explore.

So this is a rough pitch for how I think a Hulk trilogy could've gone if the MCU had the full film rights during the Infinity Saga.

Note that the aim is to not diverge too far from how the actual events of the Infinity Saga went. A couple additions/expansions, but the same general beats as in the actual movies.

1). The Incredible Hulk (Phase One):

Introduces us to Bruce and kicks off his story of dealing with the Hulk, with the world fearing him and Bruce learning to direct the Hulk's anger.

2). Hulk: Worldbreaker (Phase Two):

Set after Age of Ultron, Hulk, ashamed after Johannesburg, wants to leave Earth and winds up on Sakaar, a hostile planet ruled by the tyrannical Red King. He's forced to be a gladiator, but through his resilience, ends up at the forefront of a revolution.

Bruce can pop up as hallucinations talking to Hulk, but the focus would be on Hulk. After AoU, Hulk views himself as a monster and all he wants is to be alone. Being on Sakaar helps him see his worth, that he doesn't have to be feared and that he can be more than a beast.

As the main villain, the Red King is a smug monster who views the Hulk as a dumb animal and others as pawns to manipulate. He's also behind the Spikes, deadly sentient spores weaponized to keep RK in control.

Caiera can also be introduced. She's a fierce warrior at first loyal to the King, but grows to see how tyrannical he is and joins Hulk. Her and Hulk form a bond over feeling like weapons for others to use and they fall for each other.

Hulk's own team, the Warbound, can feature the other Sakaar characters: Valkyrie, Korg, Miek, maybe bring in Hirohim, Elloe, and No-Name.

The Grandmaster here can be a smaller-level leader ruling the Scrappers, who allies with the Warbound in the end and becomes a lord serving under Hulk.

By the end, RK is defeated and Hulk becomes Sakaar's heroic ruler. He's found a home on this planet, a family with Caiera and the Warbound, and a new purpose as a warrior of Sakaar.

3). Hulk: Gamma World (Phase Three):

Set after Infinity War, Bruce is readjusting to life after the Snap. He's reconnected with his cousin Jennifer and what's left of the Warbound, but everyone's just depressed right now, all having lost someone in the Blip (Bruce losing Betty, Hulk and Caiera losing their son).

To make matters worse, Samuel Sterns returns as the Leader. He's gone insane and is now trying to complete a device that will create a world of gamma monsters like Hulk, fascinated by Hulk/Bruce, and believing the world will be happier when mutated.

He's even created his own gamma army, including Abomination (giving him the comic-accurate look), Zzzax, the U-Foes.

This movie would focus on Bruce and Hulk having to work as a team, where both needing the other to stop Sterns.

Bruce blames the Hulk for most of his problems, while Hulk thinks Bruce only sees him as a weapon, but slowly, we can see the two grow to understand each other, empathizing with one another.

We can finally dive into Bruce's trauma, what created the Hulk and how the Hulk was created to protect Bruce. This leads to the two finally reconciling and forming Smart Hulk.

The movie can end with Smart Hulk (now with the brains and the brawn) defeating the Leader's army, and Bruce/Hulk returning to hero work, believing there's a way to inspire hope even in a world that has lost so much.
