The double standards of nudity in Marvel Movies - and most movies in general - between men and women is grotesque and offensive

When filming Thor: The Dark World, Chris Hemsworth was made to do a shirtless scene that he really did not want to do;

"That [scene] kind of came from Joss actually. He just said that there needed to be something romantic in there," Hemsworth said. "Then he said, 'Chris, get your shirt off.' I said, 'Well, I don't know. What's the why? What are we doing?' The justification was that it was him coming home from battle, washing blood off his hands. It is what it is. How to weigh into that without sounding like an idiot?"

This feels really abusive and intimidation from the part of Joss Whedon here.

He is insisting that a lead actor in a movie he's not even directing be willing to be half nude for a scene that has no other purpose other than to make the actor be a sexual object and belittle him.

Hemsworth himself didn't want to do the scene, but out of fear of looking stupid, refrained from speaking out.

If he was a female actress, this would've taken Hollywood and Marvel fans by storm and there would've been non stop outrage over the matter.

But because Chris Hemsworth is a man and a good looking one, people just ignore his complaints and continue to subjugate him.

Now here we are years later and Chris Hemsworth was now forced to do a fully nude scene in another Thor movie - with the world talking about his ass.

But if he was a woman doing a fully nude scene and characters in the movie were commenting on his genitals and ass, the world would be almost united in condemning the movie and its makers.

Why are there such massive double standards? Why don't people care that this actor doesn't like doing nude scenes for the sake of it? Why is it men are always forced to look sexy and do nude scenes in these movies when they don't want to?
